☉Olivia Hye 'Egoist' Theory - Symbolism Post :sunny:

°•●Animal & Fruit●•°

Continuing the last three girls, Olivia has a fruit as well. Even though at first I thought she was biting into an apple, but upon closer inspection I found out that it was a plum. What is a plum you ask? And how it ties to the whole story? Hmmm let me explain..

In Chinese philosophy, the Plum tree's blossom is symbol of winter ending and a herald of spring. They symbolize perseverance and hope, as well as, beauty thriving in adverse circumstances. In the MV we can see that Olivia is wearing some roughed up tights, maybe that shows how much she struggled while being left behind (more on that later :wink: )

In addition, it is said that immortals fed on plums to enhance their strength and vitality throughout the ages. Fun fact, Japanese tradition holds that the plum is celebrated as a protective charm against evil. Maybe that is the reason Olivia is "bleeding" while biting into it. Maybe she is evil by nature but a free spirit as well, that would also mean that she is being rejected by someone or Heaven maybe???? :wink: :wink:

Now lets talk about her animal. She is represented by a wolf!! (Badaaaazzz! :ok_hand: )To be able to explain her animal traits a bit further, let me break down the meaning of the wolf in both dream-telling and it's symbolism.

'Elusive, almost ghostly, predators that hunt in bloodthirsty packs. This is their reputation yet wolves are the consummate comics of the wilderness. Their commitment to and love of family is humbling, their communication skills elegant, and their extreme intelligence awe inspiring.'

Wolf symbolism and meaning is rich and multidimensional. He is an omen of something you're not seeing. Wolves have been observed to have a highly developed "third eye" or "sixth sense". The wolf also reminds us that we have all the tools in our spiritual depths to handle every situation effectively, we just need to take a step back and see with fresh eyes.

We can see Olivia acting like a wolf. She has all the strength to face her fears, and trace back to the people who hurt her and take her methodical revenge, we all saw how her eyes glow once she got angry!!! (what uuuuup Yves?!?! :joy: ). She may look like the "Lone Wolf" since she was rejected but that phrase is actually an urban legend. In fact, wolves are social animals who live and thrive best in well structured societies (packs). Her whole song is all about a certain someone who left her alone and how she wants them back in her life.

°•●Appearance●•°

In this MV we have a lot of cameos from the other girls. Some we can spot pretty easily and others need a little bit more observation. We have the 3 of "Eden" Yves, Chuu, Go Won but also JinSoul and Heejin.

We can also see some references, such as the "red feathers" which may represent Kim Lip ( Her owl is a red coloured one) and Choerry. I know this seems a bit weird but there are a lot of times in which we can clearly see a girl eating cherries. There is only one member who does that and she is the only one who goes back and forth by using them.

°•●Time-Travel●•°

By the same token, I need to point out JinSoul's part. First of all, she is talking close to someone's ear, that could easily be Choerry since she used the same way of communication in "Girl Front". Another thing to point out is the Chinese writing behind JinSoul and the blue coloured rods that kinda "box" her in that position. They look like the ones she had in her own MV, maybe that was the way to imprison JinSoul in her animal form. Maybe she is trying to show something to Olivia. Another thing is that she isn't reacting with Olivia at all. It's as if she is imprisoned and cumunicates with the help of Choerry.

The writing translates: "Falling Angels", kinda fitting don't you think? Olivia is representing Lucifer. She is constantly trapped in a "downstairs" area, she is left alone and rejected, always trying to reach the light and get closer to the Sun, her true self. After all Lucifer means "the morning star" or "light-bringing". An interesting moment is when we see the two hands, hers and probably Heejins (cause of the pink coloured background). It looks a lot like the Creation of Adam. If you've seen the painting you know what I'm talking, but if you haven't it illustrates the Biblical creation narrative in which God gives life to Adam, the first man. In a way, Lucifer was God's favorite angel, his right hand if you will.

°•●God, can you hear me?●•°

The origin of God in this MV is kinda lucid. I think.that God to Olivia is Heejin. She looks up to her and tries with a lot of bad ways to get her attention. She is burning a tape (OEC), a uniform (her subunit or maybe the "mask" she was forced to wear in order to fit in), a bed (her old memories) and finally a duck (Yves).

I think that Yves is actually Michael, God sent her to imprison Lucifer (Olivia) after she corrupted Eden. That maybe the reason Olivia is so salty with Yves and that is why Yves had to leave her behind.

°•●The Visit●•°

One last thing, before i close up my theory, is the places Olivia is in. She is seen in an underground garage dancing, just like Choerry in "Sweet Crazy Love". She is kinda hiding in an industrial space just like ViVi in Up&Line. She is visiting those places because ViVi and Choerry are the two odd of their units. ViVi is stuck in a rather plain sub unit if you consider her powers and Choerry start off as a rather usual member in her MV, having fun with Loona 1/3 just like a regular girl, but discovering her really dark side with the help of a fruit. In a way she is odd because she is left behind and because of her individuality (2 odd eyes), she is communicating with them in a way by revisiting those places.
