They perished long ago.

In the end, it was disease that ravaged their race and left no survivors. The human's own wartime savagery was their downfall. What remained of their civilization, nature reclaimed. Where once elephantine structures of metal resided are now vast forests of lush greenery. Animals were left to freely repopulate the cities and the forsaken lands the humans left behind.

Sixty years. Sixty years since the end of humanity and yet their metal buildings and advanced technology remained with little show of the neglect brought upon them by the extinction. The inner city is still a marvel of magnificent architecture and futuristic wonders while the outer rim became forgotten rubble; a deathtrap for innocent animals as the walls crumble into further ruin.

Forests now reign over the streets, sidewalks and once bustling alleyways. Structures on the outskirts of the city prove more and more dangerous over time as nature rebuilds them with her drooping vines and tall ivy. Steel barricades and a strange dome-like structure still yet guards the inner city, leaving all clueless as to what lies inside those walls. Down beneath the forsaken land, subway tunnels run deep but remain too risky to travel in the dark. While the risk of getting lost is high, other beings lurk in the shadows.

The far West side of the city gives way to a great body of water. Pollution has subsided tremendously, and while rainwater is commonly collected in various pots and buckets strewn aside, the lake is the most reliable source for both food and water. It is, so far, the only place where the two tribes may meet in peace.

Just a little snippet and a sketch I've done for a roleplay and it's a rather big one at that. This long term roleplay has a bit of a plot and a few game-like mechanics that make it go. Supply gathering and hunting is decided by chance and your tribe's food numbers deplete slowly over time. :eyes: I'd love to bring it here, but it's a large roleplay requiring more than a few people to make it run smoothly and so I'd like to know how many of you may be interested in it? ♡
