Why dysphoria matters

Hello guys, gals, and everyone in-between. Today I will be talking about dysphoria. What is is, and why it's so important. I myself am a transgender male, and am an advocate for this sort of this. Please read this all the way through before commenting as I hope to clear up some misconceptions. Without further ado, let's get into this.

What is dysphoria?

Dysphoria is the feeling of discomfort or a disconnect with your birth sex. There are different types of this. This is caused by your brain developing as the a sex different to your body. There is research that is in progress about transgenderism being caused by a genetic mutation or something to that extent.

Gender dysphoria

this is the only kind truly needed to be transgender. This has to do with being uncomfortable with your birth sex and having that discomfort relieved when you present as the gender you identify as.

Body dysphoria

This has to do with your gender not being the same as your sex. You hate having the secondary sex characteristics of your birth sex and anything in general body wise to that.

Can you be gnc or gay?

UNDENIABLY YES

There are masculine trans girls and feminine trans guys. The dysphoria is what makes you trans, not your conformity to gender roles. Thus why gnc people exist without being transgender. And yes trans folk can be gay/lesbian/bi/pan as well as straight. I'm biromantic and homosexual.

Gender Euphoria

Gender euphoria is what some people claim to experience rather than gender dysphoria. This sadly is not the case. The feeling of "euphoria" is simply dysphoria being lifted off your shoulders. Yes I it it feels so nice to be called by your right pronouns. Wether it be she/her, he/him, or they/them. You'll feel so much better because that weight and discomfort is lifted. Cis people can't fully understand it as well as a trans person can because they don't have the same issue. (But don't worry if you're cis you're fine. No gender identity is better than another)

Transmeds hate non-binary people

I would be considered transmed as I believe you need dysphoria to be transgender. And I myself am all for non-binary people. Though science has not been done fully on to the possibility of your brain being structured between male and female it's something that wouldn't be hard to wrap your mind around or be possible. Though non-binary folk are great and do struggle even more than binary trans folk because they are less accepted and recognized.

There are many people who suffer because they transitioned or went on hormones and ended up getting dysphoria afterwards. I would never wish dysphoria even on my worst enemy. It's a horrible thing that nobody should ever be subjected to. That is why we need this to be something that is well known. To prevent the pointless suffering of others. Please be careful and be very sure of things. Don't do surgery until you're done with puberty either as it could be very dangerous.
