Hi, how are you? My name is Anti-Stacey and I am back with another weekly newsletter and a few changes have been made in order to try and make this as perfect as I possibly can. I understand that you may not personally care about all the stories I write so I will be adding a contents page so you guys can actually choose if there is anything that you specifically want to read about which also means I can write about all the stories.

USA Powerlifting Bans All Trans Women From Competing

USA Powerlifting, a leading competitive group which organises nationwide competitions has recently stated that it is banning all trans female competitors. They have already rejected some trans women saying that “Transgender male to female individuals having gone through male puberty confer an unfair competitive advantage over non-transgender females due to increased bone density and muscle mass from pubertal exposure to testosterone.”

Cyd Zeigler, the Outsports co-founder confirms that bone density is a common argument used to exclude trans women fro such competitions but there are many factors that influence bone density. For example, it's scientifically proven that black females have more bone density than white males but it would be called racist if we were to separate black and white females

This is definitely a complex situation, how do you even win this? Let me know what you guys think.

English Football Club Making History With Pride Flag Inspired Kit

Altrincham, an English football club has taken a stand for LGBTQ+ by exchanging their red and white stripes to rainbow stripes on their kit basing it on the pride flag. If that wasn’t good enough it also has the statements, ‘Football Vs. Homophobia on the back. The players will be wearing this kit for a league game against Bradford on the 16th of February 2019.

The club states that they aim to create a safe environment for everyone who attends their matches or simply watches from home.

The shirts worn by players will then be sold at an auction afterwards with all profits going to a queer youth organisation called ‘The Proud Trust’. The group is currently in the process of raising 2.25 million pounds to rebuild an LGBT centre in the UK.

New Jersey Governor Signs LGBT Inclusive Education Into Law

New Jersey has recently instituted a law requiring all schools to include the societal contributions of historical LGBT+ people. It requires teachers to accurately portray the political, economic and social contributions of people with disabilities and part of the LGBT community to middle school and high school students starting in 2020.

It is now the second bill of it’s kind in the country after California. The governor believes that students being able to learn about diverse histories will help build more tolerant communities and strengthen the educational system.

Queer advocates and ers have been praising the law and New Jersey especially after New Jersey became the sixth state to offer gender-neutral birth certificates.

”Our youth deserve to see how diverse American history truly is and how they can be a part of it one day, too."

Thousands March In First Mumbai Pride Since Decriminalisation

About 15000 people in Mumbai alone took to the streets to celebrate and enjoy the first ever Mumbai Pride since homosexuality was decriminalized September last year. Many photos were shared on social media showcasing large numbers of people going to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community

Homosexuality was decriminalized in a momentous ruling from India’s Supreme Court last year, the judges were unanimous in their vote to strike down the ban on gay sex which could lead to a sentence of life imprisonment.

’We are here. We are queer. And we love marching in a post 377 India.”

Although India is finally progressing there is still a lot of work to be done with gay men still not being allowed to serve in the army

New Anti-LGBT Lobbying Group ‘Gone Too Far’ Compares Gays To Hitler

A brand new anti-LGBT group called ‘Gone Too Far’ has launched in Washington DC, and they immediately started comparing gay people to Hitler, Slave Owners and Paedophiles. This group was set up by anti-LGBT evangelicals to battle against the Equality Act, a proposed law that would protect people from discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Pro-Trump preacher Randy Short who is one of the 10 of the ‘Gone Too Far’s all-male organising committee openly compared homosexuality to paedophilia.

”We don’t need a Hitler. We’ve got LGBTQ. We’ve got the eugenicists, we’ve got these insane liberals.” “Today is the day we declare war on those who are ungodly, unbiblical and wicked.”

*Its funny how he’s comparing us to Hitler and then proceeds to declare war on all homosexual non-Christians who were thought to be unworthy and not the perfect ‘race’. News Flash, that is the exact same thing that Hitler did.*

Also presenting at the event was another extremist Scott Lively, the author of  ‘The Pink Swastika’ who once assaulted a woman.

Short proceeds to explain how gender and skin colour is genetic but homosexuality is a disease that can be cured and has been cured before. His final statements are directed towards the US Government saying if they declared LGBTQ+ as a protected minority, then Christianity would be effectively criminalised and the First Amendment voided.

Congress Trying To reverse Trump’s Transgender Military Ban

A new bill was introduced in both the House and Senate which allows transgender people to openly serve in the military and block Donald Trump’s transgender military ban. Representatives introduced the legislation that bans the military discharging and refusing to reenlist a service member because of their gender. The bill also says that the military cannot discriminate against potential service simply because of their gender identities.

”The Presidents ban is not only hateful and unAmerican, but it also harms the military readiness and morale and ultimately makes our country less strong.”

This bill is urgently needed to help protect thousands of transgender service who could be discarded or forced to serve in silence and fear.

If this bill es both the House and the Senate, Trump will presumably veto it meaning the bill would need from Congressional Republicans to override the veto.

Mistreatment Of Transgender People In Prisons

Transgender people are suffering in prisons whether from physical and sexual assaults, or being housed in prisons according to their birth gender and not how they identify. Jane Doe, a 53-year-old woman of colour recently won a lawsuit against the Massachusetts Department of Correction to have her moved from the men’s prison to the states woman’s prison.

Jane Doe has been taking hormone therapy for nearly 4 decades and has lived as a female ever since she was a teenager. She, unfortunately, had to survive through being taunted and mocked by both guards and inmates while having to share a bathroom with a group of men. She was constantly strip searched and sometimes left cuffed to the door for 30 minutes straight, her body bare for the whole facility to see.

Fortunately she finally won.

”It was not only a fight for my life but my dignity too.”
