A few years back I bought a couple of Straight Ally flag lapel pins.
I wear this pin not only to show my for the Queer Community, but to let everyone know that they can speak and feel comfortable to express themselves freely in my presence.
Lately, I have come across social websites where some people complain that straight allies wear the straight ally symbol in order to differentiate themselves from the LGBTQA+ community… as if to say "I am here at this gay event, and I the queer community, but I am straight.
I know that straight ally’s have all sorts of reasons why they wear the SA flag, but I don’t put words into other people’s mouths.
As for me, I will continue to wear the pin… all the time, and everywhere I go.
