Quitting Your Job

I recently quit my first job and I just have to say one thing....I am so fucking happy that I quit. Now, if you've gotta know one thing, it's the fact that you should NEVER let a boss/your coworkers treat you like you're a hot mess. I worked my ass off at a minimum wage job and I got picked on 24/7 and for what? Nothing. I know you're probably thinking "well...you probably did something wrong if your boss is talking down to you." Actually, I did nothing wrong. I came in on time, I helped out, I stayed late, cleaned everything, helped customers, etc. And for what?? To get $7.25 an hour?? And to have my boss call the store and tell me I'm a disappointment?

I don't know about y'all, but I am sick of people thinking they are top shit just because they're the boss of someone. My boss actually owns the store so I had literally nobody to complain to about her and it was very frustrating. I had to literally sit there and listen to her belittle me because I couldn't come in DURING A WINTER STORM. She even tried to make me come in and work during days I absolutely couldn't and when I told her several times I couldn't come, she kept bitching about "well I'm not changing the schedule." Well I'm not coming in.

Please, if you get a job and you absolutely have to stay there because it's your only source of income, take care of yourself. Regardless of if it's a positive environment or not, make sure you stand up for yourself. If you don't have to stay at a job for a long period of time then feel free to either put in your two weeks or quit asap. Also I recommend being formal about you leaving, you do not want to have your boss telling future employers about how you were unprofessional.

No job is worth sacrificing your mental health!

My job drained the absolute living hell out of me and I feel so much better now that I'm a free man. I spent so much time working so hard yet nobody cared. That extra money I made meant jack shit and it made me realize how hard it would be to live off 7 bucks an hour. That job was not fucking worth busting my ass over so I did what I had to do.

Feel free to comment about your crusty ass jobs that you guys hate, I would love to hear from yall <3

This is so fucking important and I dearly hope more people are able to see this. I just recently quit my job because I wasn’t happy there, and I decided to stop convincing myself I was. I reached out and applied for other jobs, and after getting a job offer, I not only am getting paid better but I love my job and it works much better with my schedule. Don’t settle for less and take care of yourself in the process. If you’re working your ass off, and people don’t appreciate you, that’s their issue and I highly encourage anyone to find a place and people that will value not only your work but your time.
