The term ‘Queer’ is an overarching, ambiguous adjective — and identity— of/by which can be associated with various facets of your person (e.g. your sexual and gender orientation, political alignment, personality categorisation, etc).
Simplified: To be ‘queer’ is a categorisation which suggests an individual differs from the norm, is ‘odd, strange or peculiar’ — or, simply doesn’t fit ‘one’ category.
:low_brightness:
Personally I identity as ‘queer’ in most aspects of my life; as I find my behaviours [opinions, orientations, etc] don’t ‘fit’ (a-typically) into one category.
(Plus, I find ‘queer’ to lack the constraints of in-ambiguous and ‘definitive’ labels, which [in my opinion] tend to be isolationist and restrictive upon a persons life experiences, development, etc).

i couldn’t care less if you call yourself q*eer but don’t call the community the “q*eer community”
(not saying you did, but just for future reference)

I’m entirely aware of the systematic privilege I have of being able to reclaim it, whilst in other communities it is viewed as invalid, used as in a slanderous manner and is also a stigmatised form of self— as it is in most ‘open’ communities, also.
However, that is my [only, loose] identifier. As stated twice, before you comment, I don’t refer to the entire community in said manner for a number of reasons— including the ones previously stated and the one just stated. Have a great day!

sksksks i never said you did, but seeing the word q*eer i had to make sure you weren’t using it to reference the community as a whole. you didn’t have to bring systematic oppression into it, it’s not that big of a deal.

I’m just giving reference to my acknowledgement of the previous and continuing consensus of the word. Again, for the forth time, I don’t use it in such a manner— therefore your comment past the first one would have contended.
Have a great day, though.
