Amino means a lot to me, its a huge part of my life and I enjoy being here every single day.

I thought participating in the #LookingBack challenge would be a good chance to walk you through my journey on this Amino and express how thankful I am to have come across this App.

23rd September 2018 was the day I ed LGBT+ Amino, not knowing what an impact it would have on me. It took half a month for me to share my first post, a challenge that I participated in.

I started out by ing public chatrooms, talking to people and startig to feel more comfortable. I also loved reading the posts everyone made, and by having a post featured and recieving a lot of positive , there was no stopping me from becoming more involved.

Over the months, I became really attached to this Amino and I even started applying for a position on staff.

I met several people in public chatrooms, some of which I occasionally talk to still, however as I started posting more I stopped hanging out in groupchats and would only occasionally pick up a conversation with anotger member.

I only really found friends, or at least people I talk to on a daily basis, once I ed staff. It was easier getting to know everyone after I forced myself to finally come out of my shell and overcome the anxiety I used to have when trying to talk to people online.

I learned a lot in my time being here. Apart from things like finding my favorite aesthetics or what a good post consists of, I also learned really useful things that I can use in real life.

I hadn't drawn a single comic until a few weeks ago, when a staff member told me about Chroniccomic. And thus began my experiments and learning how to draw in a new style, trying out something completely new.

I like to think Amino made me more confident outside the screen, as I can approach people easier. They are all just people like me, have their own insecurities and demons and I don't need to be afraid of them.

I've had my fair share of experiences here, and there are a few I'm sure I won't forget any time soon.

My first feature

Of course, how would I forget my first feature. All of a sudden my phone was full of notifications, and people commented so many nice things!

It was a really awesome feeling to have done something relevant enough for a feature.

Having a post broadcasted

I don't know if it was my first broadcast, but when I saw that my post '66 Things' being promoted in my notifications, I was over the moon. All of a sudden hundreds of people were reading my post, and it made me really happy to think that I had possibly lifted someones mood with that post.

The Feature Cult

I had to read the message twice that told me I had been chosen as a member of the Featureteam. I made it? I made it!

That day was incredible. To be honest, it has been ever since. I met so many amazing people, got the chance to help the community and seeing people being exited over being featured brings a smile to my face every time.

I love what I do on here, helping and becoming more confident in myself. As I mentioned, it has affected my life outside the internet and has made me a more open and outgoing person.

Thank you to the ғɪʀsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴛʀᴏᴏᴍ I was active in, for showing me how kind people on this App are. And thanks for the dog-pictures whenever I had a bad day.

To the ғʀɪᴇɴᴅs I met throughout the months, the ones I lost touch with and the ones that still bear my terrible jokes and personality to this day. You guys are amazing.

To the ᴘᴇᴏᴘʟᴇ who read my posts, those who gave a like, left a comment or even followed me. You are who I'm making my posts for, and the encouraging words mean more then you'd ever know.

Thanks to ʏᴏᴜ, the person reading this, for caring about what I have to say and giving my questionable writing-skills a chance.

And last but defenitaly not least, thanks to the sᴛᴀғғ ᴛᴇᴀᴍ for managing the Amino and helping me develop and learn. It has been quite the journey to get me where I am now, and you guys make that possible with every day I get to be part off the group.

This post got way more emotional than I

had anticipated, but why not show how

much this App really means to me.

Tuning out now, have a (g)ay
