Little Star | Poem

You have always been there, little star

You watched and raised me from afar

So small, so bright and traced in light

I learned still in a life finite

I picked up pennies just for fun

Simple joys and careless runs

Elated shouts and cries of glee

Still yet to sprout and yet to be

My path laid out a gift, a blessing

But I found myself straying and compressing

I've memorized the ways of human life

But my light has dwindled in my strife

I find myself yearning for you, little star

Your caress, love and all you are

My purpose has been lost in this noise

Please help me return to my prior joys

Star, my star, I see you no more

Nor do I hear you like I had before

My prayers left untouched, ignored

But you can't abandon me, you swore

You stupid thing, where have you gone to?

You're a liar, conniving, I fucking hate you

Star, I'm sorry for getting angry

I'll repent, so please just save me

Years and years but nothings changed

Every thought and word and breath exchanged

Who are these people I'm always around?

I search and grasp, but nothings found

Star, I think I've given up after all this time

I waited patiently without a single sign

Every night, staring aimlessly to the sky

Now I aim to you way up high

This is my farewell, little star

To all you gave and all you are

Once again, we're intertwined

My soul at rest

Life left behind

Little Star | Poem-You have always been there, little star
You watched and raised me from afar
So small, so bright and traced
