Ah yes, the LGBT community. A very very diverse community full of different gender identities, sexualities, and other forms of attraction. Some people who are new to the community or outside the community think that LGBT is simply lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. However this is far from the case.

I went people watching on this amino (not creepy, hear me out), and read a whole bunch of bios to try and find some sexualities/gender identities that are not what you would usually see or sexualities/gender identities that I myself was unfamiliar with.

Today I will be talking about the minority sexualities and gender identities of the LGBTQ+ community that many people may know little about or be completely unaware of entirely.

Let's jump in.

Often confused with being lesbian (especially when a female identifying person also identifies as gynesexual), gynesexual is the attraction to femininity. Women, men, and everyone in between can identify as gynesexual.

Saying "attraction to femininity" does NOT just apply to that of biological women; a gynesexual person can be attracted to feminine-looking men as well. After all, it is an attraction to female features, NOT females. (But a gynesexual can be attracted to feminine females. Get it?)

This one I found a bit confusing to understand, but eventually I got it. So read it over, process it, accept it.

A pomosexual person is a person that believes the labels we have created for ourselves are restricting the complexity that is human sexuality and gender. In the eyes of a pomosexual person, a heterosexual woman can identify as a gay man and a gay man can identify as a lesbian, etc etc.

It's basically a fancier word for queer.

(I also think there's more to it than the definition and example that I provided :eyes: )

This sexuality is part of the asexual spectrum. A graysexual person is generally asexual in nature, but can sometimes feel sexual attraction to certain people.

They can also develop sexual feelings for someone under certain circumstances, like they have fallen in love or already developed a romantic relationship with said person.

📽 Polysexual 📽

This sexuality is definitely on the more common end of this list, but I feel like there's a lot of confusion surrounding it so I'm adding it anyways.

A polysexual person is a person who is sexually attracted to MULTIPLE genders. Not all, not two, not one, multiple.

This sexuality is different from bisexual because bisexual people are attracted to two genders. Additionally, it is different from pansexual because pansexual people are attracted to all genders. Polysexual people are attracted to multiple genders, and the amount of genders they are attracted to varies from person to person.

⛾ Skoliosexual ⛾

A skoliosexual person is someone who is sexually attracted to anyone who identifies under the trans* or genderqueer* umbrellas. (To anyone who is not cisgender, I guess).

This can include (but is not limited to) attraction to: transgender or transsexual people, genderfluid people, non-binary people, agender people, etc.

This gender is often confused with agender in the sense that they both feel separate from male, female, and anything in between. However, there is one key feature that distinguishes aporagender from agender.

Aporagender feels the separation from above genders, but still has a very strong gendered feeling. This is different from agender because agender people don't have that gendered feeling.

This gender identity is most commonly used by intersex people, but can be used by non-intersex people (whether it's socially acceptable for a non-intersex person to use it is unknown to me. I assume it is, but you never know)..

Intergender is knowing your gender lies somewhere between the male and female side of the spectrum. Some people may know where their gender is, others may not.

Edit: I have been informed that this gender is only to be used by intersex people.

🖤 Demigender 🖤

Demigender, or demigirl/boy, is to feel partially one gender and partially another. So demigirl, partially girl and demiboy, partially boy.

Sometimes one knows one of their partial genders but not the other. Some people may know them both, or neither, but feel they are partial. This varies from person to person.

A lot of people are probably familiar with this one, but I included it because I was a tad unclear on it myself.
