In this post I'm going to tell you more about Josh Dun.

ɢᴇɴᴇʀᴀʟ ɪɴғᴏʀᴍᴀᴛɪᴏɴ

Josh Dun was born on the 18th of June 1988 in Columbus, Ohio. In 2010 Dun was a member of the band House of Heroes, but after that year he ed twenty one pilots.

Since 2018 Josh is engaged to actress Debby Ryan.

ʜɪs ʟɪғᴇ

Dun grew up in Columbus, Ohio. He has two sisters(Abigail Dun and Ashley Dun) and one brother(Jordan Dun).

His mother Laura Dun is a hospice social worker and his father William Dun is a physical therapy assistant.

In his youth Dun was somewhat rebellious and got almost kicked out because of it. He said that he didn't got into drugs or alcohol, but he'd yell at his parents and not treat them nicely.

Josh's parents were really strict on what types of music he was allowed to listen to. For that reason he secretly bought records, which were mostly of the punk rock genre, and hid them under his bed. Sometimes his parents found those and he got in trouble for it. In addition to that they found him Christian alternatives for the music he actually wanted to listen to.

In school Josh took trumpet lessons. He said that those lessons taught him how to read music, but not how to create his own. Dun also started to play drums. He didn't took any lessons for it, he taught it himself.

Josh did never attend college. He was focusing on music. Dun worked at a guitar center for three years, there he also met former twenty one pilots drummer Chris Salih. Because of him Josh got to know Tyler.

Jim is the dog of Josh. He's an emotional animal(ESA) and is trained to help Josh when he feels anxious.

Debby Ryan, Duns fiance, named the Golden Retriever Jim.

ᴛᴡᴇɴᴛʏ ᴏɴᴇ ᴘɪʟᴏᴛs

Josh ed the band twenty one pilots in 2011, after the former drummer(Chris Salih) of the band offered him his role.

The first show Tyler and Josh played together was canceled by police officers, they just had played one song before that.

Dun eventually became the permanent drummer of the band.
