:black_small_square: Hey everybody, here's the second post for my #AnimeGods leader challenge entry following the quiz. I'll be explaining to you what Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is, what it's about, and so forth. I hope you enjoy reading, even if this particular anime isn't your thing. :black_small_square:

:black_small_square: JJBA was originally a manga series both written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. The manga series is currently eight parts long, each part featuring a new protagonist or a new "jojo", which is the nickname each protagonist is/can be known as. At this time, part one through five have been adapted into an anime by David Production. David Production released the first two parts, known as Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency, in October 2012 on TV Tokyo. Following this, each new part would be released two years after the last, with part three/"Stardust Crusaders" being released in April 2014, part four/"Diamond is Unbreakable" in April 2016, and part five/"Golden Wind" in October 2018. Part 6/"Stone Ocean" is said to premiere on April 3rd, 2020. :black_small_square:

:black_small_square: JJBA is known for its many references to western music, iconic poses, and the ungodly amount of references/"jojokes" that come from the series itself to the extent where there's a joke solely based on how EVERYTHING is a Jojo reference. :black_small_square:

:black_small_square: JJBA's plot changes each part, however the story overall follows the Joestar bloodline and the protagonist for each part, whom is a descendant of Jonathan Joestar, the very first "Jojo". Each descendant of the Joestar family has a star-shaped birthmark on the back of the left shoulder. :black_small_square:

■ Part One) Phantom Blood ■

Taking place in 19th century England, young Jonathan Joestar meets Dio Brando once he is adopted into the Joestar family after Dio's father's ing; Dio harbors a hatred for Jonathan and wishes to become the heir to George Joestar, Jonathan's father.

After his attempts to do so failed, he uses an ancient stone mask he's been studying within and belonging to the Joestar household to turn himself into a vampire. Dio then flees and Jonathan comes into with Will Zeppeli, a master Hamon , and Robert Speedwagon, who become his allies and Jonathan with his newfound hamon abilities to stop Dio from succeeding in his plans for world domination, beginning the long rivalry between Dio and the Joestar bloodline.

□ Part Two) Battle Tendency □

Starting in 1930's New York City, part two follows Joseph Joestar who is the grandson of Jonathan. Hearing about Speedwagon's apparent death during an excavation expedition, Joseph goes to investigate and becomes involved with the revival of the Pillar Men, four ancient and powerful humanoids that are connected and responsible for the creation of the stone mask.

Joseph teams up with Caesar Zeppeli, Will Zeppeli's grandson, and Caesar's instructor/trainer, Lisa Lisa. They begin training their hamon abilities further to face the Pillar Men after Joseph had poisons implanted within his body in the three's mission to keep the Pillar Men from getting their hands on the Red Stone of Aja, a mysterious gem owned by Lisa Lisa that will grant the Pillar Men immortality and cause the end of the world.

■ Part Three) Stardust Crusaders ■

Starting in 1980's Japan, part three follows Jotaro Kujo, a Japanese highschool student and the grandson of Joseph Joestar. Jotaro locks himself up in jail because he believes he is possessed by an "evil spirit", this leads to his mother/Joseph's daughter calling Joseph to try to get him out.

Joseph, along with his friend Muhammad Avdol, reveal to Jotaro that he's developed a supernatural ability dubbed a "stand" that has been popping up in of the Joestar family following Dio Brando resurfacing 100 years later with an even stronger desire to obliterate the Joestar bloodline, as he believes they're the only ones able to defeat him. Dio has been convincing and taking control of people to become his assassins. One of such assassins, Noriaki Kakyoin, is promptly defeated by Jotaro and freed of Dio's control over him and becomes his ally after discovering Holly has manifested a stand which has began to entangle and slowly kill her.

Jotaro, Kakyoin, Avdol, and Joseph leave on a mission to hunt down Dio and defeat him in order to save Holly within 50 days and meet two new allies, Jean Pierre Polnareff who was initially under Dio's control as well, and Iggy, a dog sent by the Speedwagon foundation who hesitantly obliges to go with them on their mission.

□ Part Four) Diamond is Unbreakable □

Taking place in a fictional Japanese town "Morioh" in 1999, Jotaro shows up to meet Josuke Higashikata who is the illegitimate son of Joesph Joestar and inform him of the danger in the town, as many stand s have began to manifest within it.

This is found to be due to a Bow and Arrow created by Dio to awaken stand abilities in those struck by the arrow. Josuke helps Jotaro to find the current owner of the bow and arrow and the individual currently possessing it, which leads Josuke and his friend Koichi to meet Okuyasu Nijimura and Rohan Kishibe, a famous manga artist residing in Morioh who have all been hit by the arrow and become his allies.

The death of many individuals in the town, particularly the death of a middle school student which Josuke had became acquainted with, leads them to discover a serial killer that had been within the town for many years.

■ Part Five) Golden Wind ■

Taking place in 2001 Italy, Jotaro had sent Koichi Hirose to investigate Giorno Giovanna after discovering Giorno is Dio's son to check if he had manifested a stand or has ill intent.

Meanwhile, Giorno has plans to reform a mafia organization known as "ione" full of stand s from the inside-out alongside Bruno Bucciarati, a mafia member, and meets several other by the name of Narancia Ghirga, Pannacotta Fugo, Guido Mista, and Leone Abbacchio after getting through a test required to ione.

After hearing of the death of Bruno's superior, they all leave to Capri to acquire his hidden fortune. Once they have arrived, they're attacked by other mafia who're on the search for the riches as well and are approached by a capo who relies a message and task from ione's boss to escort his daughter, Trish Una, to him and protect her from attacks coming from rival mafia who wish to use her to discover the Boss's identity.

This is my favorite anime because of the characters and their designs especially. I love the differences in personality that each Jojo has and the incredible designs all characters have that make them very memorable and distinguishable from eachother. Each jojo reacts to a situation differently and finds their own ways to overcome it alongside their allies. I really like the creative designs for stands and the differences in all their abilities, my favorite stand ability being Purple Haze. I recommend JJBA to people who enjoy animes with a lot of action/conflict in them and like fantasy/adventure themes. Or if you enjoy buff men, that too.

JJBA also has some lgbt characters, particularly Tiziano and Squalo & Sorbet and Gelato in part 5, who are both gay couples. There are also personal headcanons that many people have about Anasui, a part 6 character, who was introduced as a woman and is later seen as a man who many theorize to be transgender, as well as an unnamed trans character who was only seen in a few s. Dio was also confirmed to be bisexual. The rest is all speculation/theories/headcanon territory.
