I’d rather

feeble words

unreadable mind

don’t take your time,

stop saying “yes, I’m fine”

break your key, that turned to dust

I’ll save my tears, ignore your stunts

throw my lock, in the sand-

spare those eyes, you’ve lost your chance.

I’d rather spend time with an earthquake

than the way you spoke about me

I’d rather spend time with a hurricane

than trust the way you looked at me

why caress my face with

your broken sorrow

but hide away and wilt tomorrow

stop sculpting your name in my thoughts

I’d rather you left, once and for all.
