Being lgbt+ doesn’t change the person nor make them behave differently, they are still them regardless, therefore one way to is to let them know that you them, there is more to a person than their sexual orientation.

Being ive means having the LGBT+ communities back. If you hear someone using a slur,saying anything homophobic or transphobic, speak out against it.

Being ive may even include how you want to spend your time and money as well, for example reaching each out to organizations that are raising awareness for LGBTQ issues.

Use the right pronouns is another way to them.

pronouns: he/him/his, she/her/hers, they/them/theirs, etc. Respectfully ask someone theirs upon first meeting.
