From Dusk Till Dawn

From the very start, I never thought how cruel the world can be.

The moment my thoughts began to wander aimlessly on how everything works, my whole system figured that maybe life is not that bad—unlike those scenes in the movies and books that could break me with every tears and lines.

I was brave enough to face the masked monsters who I never thought would be the worst enemies I will encounter as my ignorance pushed me to sur any of my limitations. It was truly a bliss; not knowing what lies ahead and what those people could do to make me give up even on myself.

My darkest moments molded me into someone I never thought I could be, but it brought me to many stages in life. Confusion, hatred, regrets, longing, and greediness had different faces, it was like they were different people trying to takeover me. But despite all of that, the colorful moments made me how beautiful it is to be alive.

Those moments are proof that you can be happy just as much as how broken you can be. They are evidences that we shouldn’t think of painful memories as the prize for having beautiful ones, but the other way around.

It was exhilarating when the thought of finally accepting and loving myself for who I am and for who I am going to be dominated my once corrupted mind and shattered heart. The realizations started to ease my pain that has been living with me for years. And it was kind of funny, for I never thought the day would come when I can finally say “I am happy” with nothing but truth and pureness.

And for that, I vow to never give up on myself, no matter how much other people try to destroy me.

I will continue on forward, with or without people by my side and prove that a Queen can be destroyed by a mere pawn.

And as the world carry on without rest, I will become the living proof of its greatness; relentless from dusk till dawn.
