In these times of unrest, uncertainty and looming storm clouds ahead, it is hard to still stand tall. With the end of the year for a lot of people the social pressures are the candle on top of the current dumpster fire.

However it shall not keep us from trying to resolve the issues plaguing us. Be that an attack or escape plan. There are set backs, mistakes and failures. You might very well be on your own. But you don't have to raise an army to work on bettering your situation. You may not control your situation, but you do control your actions. What won't help for certain, is sitting back and giving up.

This post truly resonates with the past version of me that wanted to face my difficult and helpless circumstances.

Yet, I can’t help but feel disconnected, as I don't see myself rising to the occasion—singing Metalingus and confronting life head-on after reading this.

The dark feelings that eat away deep inside are too much to face.

Hence despite having all the time, ability and talent to act, I remain paralyzed, doing nothing.

This is the result: the person I am today. My powerlessness, my incompetence, my terrible nature—they are the product of my rotten character that I can’t fix.

I feel empty… hollow, as though there’s nothing inside me. And nothing about me has changed.

I absolutely hate myself.
