I used to think you were all there was

I thought nothing could be better than you

I though the world turned with you ‘cause..

You said you were divine and I thought it was true

The image seemed to fade into grayscale the longer I looked

How could someone so regular be so divine

You weren’t special, you weren’t a god from a book

You weren’t perfect, and you were far from fine

A single drop of water could tip you over the scale

You were a malfunction firecracker waiting to explode

I tried to save you from yourself but to no avail

If your anger stayed bottled in, you would implode

In a way you were unstoppable, truly divine

No one else could get away with the things you did even if they tried

You claimed everything as yours even if they were mine

You claimed all my tears, even if I was the one who cried

For years and years I prayed to you, hoping you’d hear my pleas

Hoping that you’d use your divine intervention and heal me with ease

Take away my pain that life seemed to make

But alas you were a fraud, a wolf in sheep’s clothing, a fake
