my name is yasmeen but most people on here rn call me doja, so i also go by doja. i’m 26 (27 in like 26 days but i haven’t come to with it yet).

i’m an english and art teacher who loves languages, history, politics, exploring cultures and traditions of others and writing.

on my free time i like to talk to my friends, play games, cuddle my cats and cook. although i’m kinda bad at cooking properly for myself, i love cooking for others.

if you ask my friends who i am i think most of them would say i’m a nerd (i also know this cuz they told me last night lmao) because i like knowledge. i like knowing a lot about a lot and helping my friends with university stuff.

id like to be part of the editors alliance because i have found that i really like creating content and coming up with different ideas, i like engaging with and being part of a team; which i have gotten a taste of as part of the security squad and now as an intern leader. for when i go back to being a curator id love to have something more to do, and i think this would suit me well

i think a feature worthy post is a post with a purpose. whether it be a blog about a certain topic, a poem or showing their art. it’s can be post that’s conveying some type of message, a post to invoke feelings or just wanting to show their creations.

i don’t think the aesthetic aspect is a must, or making it really petty with symbols and pictures but i think in some cases it could help to get your post featured.

10-day Writing Challenge

this is a challenge to get your creative juices flowing, to challenge your imagination and fill the feed with beautifully written posts.

for 10 days straight i will post a prompt each day that tells you what to write about.

when you have written your text, include a picture and add the hashtag #10DayWriting

there will be one winner for each prompt, so pour your heart and soul into each one.

for each win you will be granted a title of your choice towards the end of the challenge. a leader once it’s over to claim your title/s.

here’s what the prompts will look like (i’m showing y’all, the participating would have to wait)

1. write a poem about mourning someone who is still alive

2. write a short story about someone going on a trip

3. write a journal entry as a person missing something/someone

4. write a love letter from or to a fictional character

5. write a letter of complaint to a company about a product you’ve purchased (i expect this one to make me laugh, so be funny)

6. in a short story rewrite a part from a famous fairytale from the perspective of the villain

7. shuffle your music playlist and write a short story based on the third song you land on

8. write a letter to an old teacher

9. write the scene: “you wake up in victorian london”

10. choose a historical event and write a paragraph starting: “what if..”

1. you catch one of your fellow editors plagiarizing, what do you do?

i would gather my proof and talk to, preferably the lead editor; and if they’re not around i’d talk to another leader.

2. an argument gets heated in the comment section of your post, what do you do?

everything depends on the severity of situation, but i would advice to the to take discussions in private and to be mindful of the guidelines when doing so, if i notice that post stirs up a lot i would disable the comments. if a comment violates a guideline, i’d sent a fitting message and send proof to a leader.

3. one of the posts you've made is being called triggering or offensive, what do you do?

i think everyone makes mistakes and it’s impossible to know everything, but it’s also very important to listen to people especially when it comes to these things. if the post is triggering i would add the appropriate warnings; but if the explain why the post is offensive i would bring it up with the rest of the team in order to delete the post.

4. there is a troll in the comment section of one of your posts, what do you do?

take a screenshot, delete their messages and report to a leader with proof and a link to their profile.

5. someone gives you notes on what you need to improve on your post that you don't agree with, what do you do?

explain my opinion and my choices and try to meet the person halfway, maybe we can come to an agreement on something that pleases the both of us.
