𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘳 1 ( demisexuality

Demisexuality is placed somewhere between asexuality and sexuality. Someone who identifies with demisexuality will only feel sexual attraction after a strong emotional bond has been formed.

𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘳 2 ( history (not up to date)

'The term ‘demisexual‘ was first coined in 2006 by a of an internet forum belonging to The Asexual Visibility & Education Network (AVEN). In the thread, sonofzeal describes his experience of not being sexually attracted to people without first forming an emotional connection. Sonofzeal felt neither asexual nor non-asexual and created the term to more accurately describe needing an emotional bond as a prerequisite to sexual attraction. By 2008, the term had entered common vernacular and started to have widespread use."

𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘳 3 ( flag

The demisexual pride flag is an adaptation of the asexual flag, tailored specifically for demisexual people. The flag contains a black triangle on the left pointing inward toward the center with three horizontal stripes that are white, purple, and gray. The black triangle symbolizes the wider asexual community, as black represents a lack of sexual attraction; the white stripe symbolizes sexuality; the purple stripe represents community; and the gray stripe represents the wider gray-asexual community, which demisexuality falls under.

I might be demiromantic. I’m sexually attracted to both males and females but I would only show romantic intrest/get a crush on someone if I really know them (I’ve had 2 crushes in my life, one is my best friendship the other a close friend). I’ll stick to bisexual for now though bc I don’t want to complicate things.

My crush is demisexual and I wasn't sure what that was, I recently found out that he had liked me back but I wanted to know what demisexual was exactly, this post helped clear it up and I appreciate it!
