[debate] what are your thoughts on fictosexual?

I think it’s okay and I kinda relate to it. I’m aroace but I still get crushes and am attracted to fictional characters. It describes how I feel.

Not a real sexuality. It's mocking the lgbtq+

I had to look at the other comments to know what it is, so I might be wrong, but it seems like a sexuality were you’re attracted to anime characters isn’t really a sexuality, I get crushing on a anime character, but it’s not a sexuality in my opinion.

It was literally made by trolls to invaildate the community. Sexualites are the genders you're attracted to in relation to your own. Fiction and anime aren't genders. Cishet girls who are attracted to anime boys aren't LGBT.

But we must not forget that there are people out there who identify with neither gender or no gender at all, so by saying that 'Fictosexual' is not a sexuality because the subject of the attraction is fictional and is not classified as a gender. By doing this we are refusing to accept that gender is a spectrum as is sexuality and thus invalidate people's love life. My opinion on this matter is that let love be, who are we to say that a sexuality doesn't exist?
