A few years ago I got an assignment for school, I had to make something about how I looked at the subject of dying. Because I’m not good at writing stuff or drawing for that matter, I thought I would make a video, using clips and music from music videos and series as well as using photos and videos of my own.

So instead of just looking at rituals or beliefs in religions and cultures and writing about that, I made it about my own experiences.

In the last grade of primary school I lost one of my classmates to suicide, not because he was one of my close friends but because of the way he died, it really hit me. It took me about seven years to give his death a place in my life, where I didn’t cry at just the mention of it.

The second and third thing is that I unexpectedly lost my grandfather, who meant a lot to me. Then about a year and half later I lost my grandmother, she was sick for a longer period and because of it I went there every week so I slowly saw her getting sicker and sicker. And even though it wasn’t so unexpected it still hit me hard that I lost her.
