Candy prompt challenge | Example post

This poem talks about loneliness,

alludes to depression and also

references cigarette /smoking.

Hi everyone - bringing to you

today an example post for the

latest prompt challenge,

the candy prompt.

It's been a while I wrote a poem

And so I thought I would do

A poem as an example post

for this challenge. Slightly dark,

this one. And it's called....

It's been raining for 4 days

Inside my flat i feel a little caged

Now all i have left

Are some candies, and a cigarette

The clouds are rather dark

Or are these shadows of my past

Windows shut rather tight

No signs of any sunlight

The gloom and darkness

Camouflaging the inside mess

Scrolling through the phone mindlessly

No remaining connections wordly

Thunder and lightning

A little frightening

The noise from the skies

Overwhelms my inner voice

It's been a few years

The thunders have subsided

The silences I grew used to

Have me internally surrounded

The curtains that I never drew

For darkness became my new mate

And people became aliens

Withdrawn from social updates

Unlike the rains that date

Loneliness arrived and never went

Now all i have left....
