Arcane Divine

I held my breath as I touched the clouds

Fingertips enveloped in water droplets

Outstretched wings that carried me away

Causing me to soar far above the world

Blissfully aware of the peaceful altitude

Black feathers swept by southerly wind

Ginormous wings lazily beating at air

Rising to catch the last of the sun's rays

Diving just to feel the rush, then soaring

Enjoying the peace that comes with flight

Something went amiss, a fault in the world

Wings frantically flapping to stay above

The diving turned to falling, to screaming

Nothing could be done to stay in the skies

Then eyes were opened and things changed

No more wings, nothing but a memory left

A lost divinity that flowed in mortal veins

Words from a lost dialect upon my lips

Arcane desires held within a homesick heart

A soul that broke into pieces as I fell down

I held my breath as I felt something stir

Fingertips that entwined with my own

Outstretched arms that made me feel safe

Causing tense muscles to relax for once

Blissfully aware that he was the cause

He felt like the peace of flying

He caught me as I was falling

He made me feel divine again
