New Lego Movie 2 sets

Ok so these are awesome. Let’s run through them quickly! I don’t have names or prices, so this will just be my own thoughts on these sets.

Starting with this set. I think out of all three of the new sets, this will be the one that I’ll get. It’s a scene from the final act of the movie, where Apocalypseburg has merged with the residents of the Sistar System to form Apocalypse-star, the new shared world.

Notice the new yellow colour for the new plant element price introduced recently. The larger leaf pieces are also in a new colour here I believe.

But most importantly, notice the “sparkle babies,” formerly known as the “sewer babies.” In this set, you get 2 sparkle babies, each with a different coloured body and different face print ad far as I can tell. These looks adorable, and will certainly be the main selling point for this set.

Otherwise, Emmet and Lucy are also included with a star, but at this point none of these are considered rare. I do like Emmet’s face, though!

Moving on, I will now be discussing this set. It’s one of the space vehicles that the heroes build towards the end of the movie to fight back against Rex and save Emmet. Whilst Emmet is included in this set, I don’t believe that it is the same Emmet in the D2C Rexcelsior set released earlier this year.

For what it is, the set looks good. You get 4 minifigures, the main cast of the movie, in this one set, so it’s definitely a good set to get if you’re looking to collect some of the characters without spending too much money.

Personally, the set doesn’t appeal to me particularly, but it still looks like a cheap way to pick up some good figures, and the build itself isn’t bad!

Oh boy! Another glorified character pack! Yay!

I really like this set! The long awaited for Disco Benny figure finally appears in a set, as well as Disco Metalbeard and Unikitty!

Most of the parts of this particular set go into the construction of Metalbeard himself, which I think is perfectly fine. I do believe that the purple curved tile piece on metalbeard’s piano leg is a new colour, though.

The Unikitty figure also comes with those special printed slope pieces from the Pop-Up party bus set, as well as the special printed tail piece in the rainbow colour. Additionally, Unikitty has a new face print and appears to have the pipe-cleaner scarf from the movie. I’m interested to see if this is going to be ac actual pipe-cleaner or if Lego is doing something else to make that part.

Aside from the excellent figures, there’s not much to say! A small dance floor, a drink stand and a speaker make up the side builds, which are nothing special. Overall I believe this set will sell extremely well, especially for the Benny figure with the new piece for the sunglasses.

Thanks for reading! I hope you’re as excited for these sets as I am. I believe these sets will all be relatively cheap - I would estimate that the Sparkle Babies pack will be the cheapest, but I would guess that the spaceship and the Disco Friends set will be the same price.
