  Hello! In this blog I'll be

  introducing Singapore!

  The place where I was

  born and raised. It's a v

  small country, so it's te

  -chnically a city as well.

  Also known as "garden

  city", as Singapore is fu

   Singapore is a multiracial

   country — Chinese, Malay,

   Indians, and Europeans.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀    food! I'd just put in some

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀   popular dishes, keep in

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀     ⠀mind that this list is non-

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀    ⠀exhausive. Also, I'll be incl

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀    -uding dishes that are of

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀    ⠀the different races! Some

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀        thing like the popular dish

                                            -es from the diff cultures.

chilli crab

ironically I've never tried it before,

probably cuz it's pretty expensive,

but it's one of the most popular di

-shes that's recommended to tour

-ists.                                                   

laksa

a popular dish from the Malay

peninsula. There are many diff

types of laksa, some are more

rich and creamy with coconut

milk (curry laksa), other version

  -s are more refreshing and sour

(asam laksa).                             

satay

"Satay" is basically meat on

skewers. Normally beef, ch

  -icken, or mutton, marinated

in a mixture of spices and l

-emongrass, skewered, then

  grilled over charcoal. They're

    served with a sweet and mildly

    spicy peanut sauce, along with

     cucumbers & onions, and some

-times rice cakes, which are

called "lontong".                    

bat kut teh

a traditional Chinese dish, lite

-ral translated to "pork bone t

-ea", though there isn't any tea

in it. it got its name because

  tea is consumed along with the

pork soup to wash down the  

grease. Basic recipe includes

pork ribs that are boiled in      

water along with white pepper,

lots of garlic, and salt, until the

pork become tender and all the

flavor of the pepper and garlic

is mingled into the pork bones

   to create a comfortingly flavorful

soup. Bak kut teh is eaten with a

     bowl of rice, and often some other

      side dishes like preserved mustard

        greens or braised tofu. And you need

          to wash it down with hot Chinese tea.

chai tao kueh

also known as carrot cake. But

there isn't any carrots, instead

   it's made of daikon radish, which

in the teochew dialect can refer

     to both daikon radish and carrots.

made with rice flour and shreds

     of daikon that are formed into rice

    cakes, fried in pork lard, and eggs.

there are 2 types: white & black.

white would be without any dark

soy sauce, whereas black would

be fried with dark sweet sauce.

roti prata

an Indian influenced flat bread

dish. Usually served with dal or

       other types of curry. Can be served

plain, with egg, cheese or meat.

rojak

both Chinese & Indian rojak are

  common in hawker centers here.

the Chinese rojak often includes

slices of fruit like pineapple or

guava, Chinese youtiao, bean   

sprouts, etc., tossed in a shrimp

paste and palm sugar glaze, and

finally finished with crushed     

peanuts. The Indian rojak can  

     include a chopped up mix of deep

     fried fritters, potatoes, vegetables

         and fruit, paired with a peanut sweet

and spicy sauce

the nation's oldest museum that

seeks to inspire with stories of  

    Singapore and the world. Its history

    dates back to 1849, when it opened

on Stamford Road as the Raffles

Library and Museum. More about

an art museum located in the down

town Core district of Singapore.     

Opened on 24 November 2015, it    

oversees the world’s largest public

collection of Singaporean and        

Southeast Asian art, consisting of
