Hatching Dreams

Hello everyone!

Ever heard of Inutamago? You may have seen him, but never heard about him. But then again, whenever you start a Hal Laboratory game, he’s always there...

Yup! This dog-with-eggs-inside-a-nest logo, referred to as the Dream Hatcher, indeed has name. Not only does it have that, but it also has a meaning... one that makes brilliant sense with their company.

Hal Laboratory Inc. prefer to not look at the dog as a dachshund. According to a 2003 Nintendo Power interview with Kirby Air Ride producer Masayoshi Tanimura, they prefer to look at the emblem as “deep thought”, and taking completely new ideas to make new, fun games.

It makes brilliant sense because Hal Laboratory has never been shy with trying new things, especially in recent years. It’s really nice how this ties in together!

After hearing about this, I immediately wanted to make a drawing about Inutamago/the Dream Hatcher with it’s main popular successes.

So here it is! It’s dreaming about Kirby (obviously), BOXBOY!, Super Smash Bros., Mother/Earthbound as well as Hal Egg, Hal Labs’ mobile brand, ‘dreaming’ about Part Time UFO. That game did get a high score, you know...

That’s all! I hope this doesn’t get taken down just because one Kirby related thing is here... Oh well,
