Corrupted Data: Pt.3

Sora grunted in pain as he fell to the ground. He tried to stand up, but he fell to his knees and he looked at the person who he was fighting.

"Well, Sora, I didn't think you would become this weak only fighting the Negativity inside you." He smirked as Sora used his keyblade to keep himself standing.

"...I won't...let you...win!" He yelled as he ran at Negativity as he tried to attack him with his keyblade, but Negativity only blocked it using his own blades, he pushed him back as he tried to stab him, but Sora blocked it jumped back away from him.

"You really think you stand a chance? Look around you. In this place...there is no light in the dark. No escape from me. Quit running from your fate, and just accept it." He said. Sora got up and he ran at Negativity as he tried to hit him, but he tripped his feet, as if everything was in slow motion, Sora looked up at him in fear, and he hit his blade at Sora's right eye.

Sora screamed in pain as he fell to the ground, putting one of his hands on his eye. He noticed it was leaking a dark essence. Negativity's dark essence. Sora kept screaming in pain as he tried to ease the pain, but it wasn't working out well. The pain was unbearable. It hurt as if something clicked into his head. Negativity only rolled his eyes with an annoyed look on his face.

"Close call. But it was worth it in the end." He said as he slowly walked towards him. Sora yelled as he kept trying to these specks of light out with his free hand, but he kept missing as this gave Negativity amusement.

"Looks like you won't be able to see from that eye sometime soon. Unless you get a little 'practice'. Now, this...this is going to make a fine memory for you. An unforgettable one." He, chuckled.

Sora screamed as he threw his keyblade at him, but he missed as it landed behind him, stabbed into the ground as Negativity looked back at it.

"Blind or not...I'm not...going...to give up.." she said determinedly as he tried to stand, his one hand still over his eye, but he didn't have enough strength as he fell to his knees.

"Oh, grow up." Negativity rolled his eyes. "This is the one thing I hate about you. You can't see how right I am about your future. You're more sanguine than I thought you would be."

"I'm not the one...trying...to keep pain forever.." Sora shot back as he slowly stood up, but almost fell if it weren't for the rocky pillar behind him to keep him up.

"Do you really think you scare me, Sora? I am you. I know everything about you, I even know what keeps you up at night." Negativity said as he stood right in front of him.

"...What are you? Really?" Sora growled as Negativity chuckled.

"I.." He began as he raised one of his blades up. "Am the real you." Was the last thing Sora heard as he saw a blade coming down towards him.

"NO!!" Sora screamed as he quickly sat up and was breathing heavily. He put his hand on his scarred eye, feeling that there wasn't any more dark essence leaking out of it. For that, he sighed in relief. When he looked around, he saw he was laying against the Paopu Fruit tree as a worn out blanket was over his shoulders. He put his hand on his head, trying to what happened.

The last thing he ed was hiding. Hiding in a small cave full of darkness. Seeing Negativity above them, and almost successfully hitting...

Data..

Data Riku...and Sora..

"He's awake, Riku!" Sora jumped as he saw Data Sora behind him, looked back for a moment before looking back down at Sora.

"What...happened to me?" Sora asked as Data Sora jumped over the tree and knelt down beside him.

"After this guy attacked you, you ed out." He explained. "We didn't really have any other place here that was...comfortable, so this was the only place we could think of."

"Thanks for that.." Sora thanked him.

"No problem!" He smiled. "Can you stand?" Data Sora gestured his hand to him. Sora took it, and he slowly stood up as he swayed a little. He almost fell, but Data Sora caught him in time as he helped him stand up straight again, the old blanket falling to the ground beside him.

"Good to see you up on your feet." The two Soras looked at beside them and they saw Data Riku walking towards them.

"Yeah...thanks for helping me out." He said as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"What else were we suppose to do? We couldn't just leave you and act like nothing happened!" Data Sora implied. "Speaking of that...who was that guy? And what's this about 'Data'?"

Sora could've sworn he saw Data Riku wince a little as he looked away. Regardless, he still spoke.

"...About this data. I don't really understand it either." Sora said. "But to put it short. It's what...I've been through, and all the places I've gone to. This entire place is connected in a way. The Datascape."

"'Date escape'?" Sora tried to pronounce it.

"Datascape." Data Riku corrected as he and Sora looked at him surprised. "...It's a place that holds the data of all the journeys Sora's been through. It was all written in Jiminy's journal, until these bugs stopped the journal from being restored."

"How...do you know this?" Sora asked him.

"I...I don't know.." Sora knew Data Riku was hiding something the moment he said that. However, seeing how Data Sora had a really confused look on his face, he decided to drop the subject...for now.

"But enough about that." Data Riku quickly said. "Who was that guy, and how does he know you?"

"..." Data Sora saw that Sora had his hands clenched into fists as he had an angered look in his eyes.

"Y-You don't have to tell us if-" "It's fine." Sora interrupted a little harshly as Data Sora took a step back. Sora sighed as he calmed down as he sat down on the tree, and looked at the ocean.

"...Everything I did to keep my family safe. Sacrificing my heart to save her...sleeping for a year just to forget...looking everywhere for them when I woke up...I faked my happiness for a long time.." Data Sora and Riku both looked at each other, concerned about what they were going to hear next. Regardless, they still let him speak.

"All of that. All of that Negativity I felt during those times...they formed into a person. A person who controlled me when I sacrificed my life for...another friend of mine. He took control of me, because...I let him do that. I didn't fight, I didn't make a move, I didn't even talk back to him. I just...gave up! But when I heard he was going after my friends...I tried to fight, but he was too strong for me.."

Data Sora saw a tear fall from his eye as he heard the quivery...and anger in his voice. He tried to walk over to him to comfort him, but Data Riku put his hand on his shoulder and shook his head, telling him to give him a little space.

"This scar...is proof of what Negativity's capable of." Sora said as he pointed at his scarred eye. "My vision is still blurry through it because of him. And...I sacrificed my own memories to save everyone who was there for me."

"How did you them?" Data Riku asked. Sora smiled a little as he asked that.

"Let's just say...my friends' hope never left me." He said. "They still believed in me...even when I forgot them.." Sora wiped the tears from his eyes as he sighed. Data Sora walked to Sora and he sat down on the tree beside him.

"...That proves you still have a big heart for them." He said as Sora looked at him.

"When you forgot them, you still never gave up on them. Whatever this...Negativity guy's capable of, that shouldn't matter. What matters is that everyone still had your back. I may not know what exactly happened, but I can tell you've been fighting through it. Surviving. But whatever happens, don't let it take over. You control your own life. Not Negativity."

"...Heh...I didn't think I could get advice from my fifteen year old self." He chuckled.

"What's that suppose to mean?" Data Sora smirked as he playfully shoved him and they both laughed. Data Riku smiled seeing how well Data Sora managed to make him fell better so quickly.

"Isn't that nice to watch?" The trio looked behind them, and they saw Negativity floating above them with his arms crossed.

"You again!" Data Sora exclaimed as he and Sora stood up, and glared at him.

"Who else would it be?" He smirked. Sora growled as he took out his keyblade and pointed it at him.

"Looks like Data Sora managed to talk sense into you." He said as Data Sora's hands clenched into fists. "I told you he would get you to see how right I am."

"More like how wrong you are." Data Riku remarked as stood in front of him protectively.

"Hehe...well, Sora, since you told them about my heritage...do you this?!" He shot this huge orb into the sky, and when it dissipated, this huge dark portal appeared above them as it started to become windy. Sora exactly ed this night. The night...when the Islands fell to Darkness.

"Now, let's see what else is missing here. Oh, what was it again? Oh, now I . Heartless!" He snapped his fingers and multiple shadow heartless appeared around them.

"Great.." He growled under his breath as he tightened his grip around the keyblade.

"Hate to run off so soon, but I have more worlds to put bugs in. Let's see if you're worth living." He disappeared in darkness as the three stood back to back with each other.

"What are these things?!" Data Sora asked a little scared.

"Heartless." Sora answered. "You and Riku get out of here! I can handle this!"

To his surprise, a familiar weapon was pointed over his shoulder at the Heartless, Soul Eater. When he turned around, he saw it was Data Riku pointing the weapon at them.

"As if we're doing that." He said as he got into his stance. Data Sora stood beside him as well.

He looked beside him, and he saw a wooden sword on the ground. He quickly picked it up as he was in the same exact stance as Sora was.

"I may not have a weapon like yours, but something's better than nothing!" He said determinedly. Sora smiled seeing he still had by his side.

"Then let's do this!" The three all ran at the Heartless, attacking any one of them that came in their way...unaware that Negativity was watching the whole thing. His attention mostly on Data Sora as he had a sadistic smirk on his face.

"Time for phase 2."
