i’m here today to address a concern the leaders have for the younger of this community. please read this blog and make sure to flag any s that you think go against these guidelines.

we’ve recently been gaining a lot of really quickly, and we notice that there are a lot of younger folks (12 years or younger). in this amino, we are trying to make everything child friendly. we work hard to disable inappropriate content and ban inappropriate people.

but along with all the kids that are ing, there are an equal amount of pedophiles and creeps that . you’d be surprised by how many we’ve had to ban already. as much as we try to ban these creeps, it’s really hard to moderate, because most of the younger are unaware of how to flag/report these creeps. and that’s a huge concern.

you guys might be wondering “doesn’t amino’s age policy state that the app is 12+?” well. it’s kind of complicated, but i’ll try to explain. Team Amino have told leaders that we are NOT EXPECTED to ban who fall outside the age restriction. if someone from Team Amino finds out about a 10 year old, they will be superbanned (banned from all communities), but as leaders, it’s not our responsibility to ban these kids. we are to treat them just as any other member, and ban them when they don’t follow rules.

but Team Amino have also mentioned that every community is different. if we, as leaders, feel the need to have an age restriction in our amino, we are free to have one and ban accordingly. for example, some communities are 15+, some are 18+ and so on.

due to the influx of creeps we’ve had on this amino, we have decided to limit this amino only to that are 11 years of age, or older. we really hate to do this, but we think it’s necessary to protect the younglings.

so, as of today, this amino will only allow older than 11 years of age. but obviously, it’s still hard to go around and make sure everyone is 11+, so we need your help!

PLEASE make sure you flag:

— creepy and/or suspicious

— who are 10 or younger

you can also message the staff with these concerns if you’re not sure if you have to flag something, and we’ll take care if it from there.

here’s a short tutorial on flagging /messages. i’ll be posting a better tutorial in a separate blog soon, so look out for that as well. (using mimi and yummy as examples only, please don’t flag them lol)

if there’s a inappropriate message you want to report to us, flag the message as well as the profile, please!
