decided to write

about Kikyo before

she died, and what

her feelings must

have been when she

realized InuYasha

betrayed her.

I thought this was

a fun idea so I hope

you like it!

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳ Kikyo

Kikyo and InuYasha walked back to the village. Earlier they had a discussion ing the Sacred Jewel to turn InuYasha into a human. Kikyo truly believed that this wish would grant them both happiness. It would mean they could be together for the rest of their lives. That's all she ever wanted since the day she met him.

She no longer wished to guard the Jewel and purify it from evil. All she wanted now was a chance at a normal life. To be an ordinary women. To never have to worry about fighting demons again. No jewel meant no demons, and no demons meant a life full of happiness with the people she loved the most. This was all she ever wanted.

InuYasha had helped her realize this dream. He was like a star in the sky. When she was lost, he was there to guide her with his light. He protected her from harm. She wanted a life with him. An ordinary life with him, as humans. This was their oppurtunity to free them both from the chains binding them. To use the Jewel for good. To purify it for good.

They reached the village and parted ways. Early in the morning they would meet in the spot they agreed upon. She couldn't wait. She wished to do it sooner but being hasty wasn't the best.

So she went home and waited for the sun to rise.

Kikyo arrived in the agreed upon spot. InuYasha was nowhere to be seen. "That InuYasha, he must of overslept."

Kikyo ed the shell of lipstick InuYasha had given to her. It belonged to his mother. He gave it to her that day she meant to bind him with the beads. That day she was filled with happiness because no one had given something so special to her. The small gift meant so much to her. More than InuYasha had thought. She was truly happy he was in her life.

Kikyo opened the shell, put some on her pinky, and went to apply the lipstick to her lips. She only got this far when she felt a stinging pain coming from her right shoulder. She fell to the ground.

The pain was unbearable. Blood now covered most of her shoulder. Kikyo heard a person's voice behind her. "You can try and pretty yourself up with this, but you cant hide your true nature. This rouge doesnt become you at all. Demon blood is good enough for you." He broke the shell into hundreds of pieces. She knew this voice. She knew it too well.

"Inuyasha?" She realized she had dropped the Sacred Jewel when she fell. Kikyo reached out to grab it before his foot stepped on her outreached hand. Her eyes went wide.

"You fool. I had no desire what so ever to become human." This statement shocked Kikyo. What was he saying? Was this truly the InuYasha she knew so well? It had to be. Who else could it be? "But I shall take the Shikon Jewel nonethless. Thanks." InuYasha picked up the Sacred Jewel. She saw in his hand his true nature. From one touch, the jewel was tainted with darkness. "This jewel is about to absorb a great deal of pain and suffering when I use it to slaughter the villagers." As he left, she screamed after him.

'What was this?' She thought. The InuYasha she knew wasn't like this, or was he? Was it a plot to get the jewel? Was it his plan to taint the jewel by killing her and her village? So many thoughts ran across Kikyo's mind.

InuYasha had betrayed her. He had decieved her to get the jewel. But why? Why would he go threw all of this? Did she mean anything to him at all? Was any of it real? The pain in her shoulder answered all these questions. The blood running down her arm said it all. The blood staining the grass forced her to finally understand.

But it was too late.

How could she have been so stupid? How could she let a demon get the better of her? No. Not a demon. InuYasha was much worse than a demon. InuYasha was a monster. Only a monster could do what he did: pretend he cared and loved her, lie and decieve her.

InuYasha's betrayal felt more real as each second ed. The realization that this was reality hurt even more than the pain in her right shoulder.

Tears beckoned to fall from her eyes, but she fought to keep them from falling. She knew there was only one thing left to do now. It meant pushing herself beyond her limits. She would do this; she would complete this final task for her people. Kikyo tried her best to rise. The pain hurt so much that she didnt know if she had it in her.

But she continued to try. She let the betrayal take over her mind, her body, her soul. She allowed the happiness she once felt to turn into despair and sadness. She allowed the love she felt for another to turn into hate and anger. All the negative emotions she fought so hard to keep away from her spirit for so long. She finally allowed them to take grasp of her heart.

Kikyo stood. The pain, the anger, the hatred she felt allowed her to stand. It kept her walking towards her village. Every step was fueled with vegence.

Kikyo kept walking, and as she drew nearer to the village, she accepted her fate. She accepted her task. The only thing left to do was kill the man she once loved; Kikyo had to kill InuYasha for her people, and herself. Then, and only then, would she allow herself to die.
