Working With Tango (Day 3)

Today I got to the barn at 10 am and we groomed Tango and tacked him up. We then headed to the arena and I had him walk over the bridges again and I lunged him over them. I also lunged Tango at the walk and trot and at first he was sassy and tossing his head and trying to go faster but then he started behaving. His ground manners are a hundred times better then before and he is much calmer, relaxed, and respectful!

Then we put his bridle on and tightened his girth and I mounted him. We walked around and looked at all the “scary” things and I asked him to put his head down and he was great! We trotted around a bit and I asked him to put his head down again at the trot and he was behaving so nicely. We also walked over the bridges and even though it took a couple tries he did it! I was super proud of Tango though and he is improving so much! Afterwards we took Tango to the wash stall again. He was more willing to go into it then he was last time but he still did not like it. Then I took Tango back to his stall and untacked him and groomed him. I left at about 11:30 am so we were there for an hour and a half.
