History

The Arabian horse has always been known as the oldest horse breed in the world! Nobody really knows where they came from, except it’s distinctive silhouette was first seen in the art of Ancient Egypt more than 3,500 years ago. Tho it was the nomadic people of the Arabian Desert we “created” the Arabians. The Arabian had an original purpose, it was as a desert warhorse. Over time Arabians adapted to the desert environment which is why some qualities make them unique. Since barley no pastures, Arabians had to learn to survive with non-typical feeds such as dates or camels milk. Desert adaptions that’s have made them unique include not needing as much feed, thin skin, and tails held high in motion which has helped them cool their bodies. Arabians strong hooves helped them walk on hot sand and the rocks of the desert. Arabians used to carry heavy riders over great distances with little food or water. The people of the Arabian Desert formed strong bonds with Arabians which is why today Arabians are loving and have a strong bond with their owners. Then slowly the Europeans found them and Arabians started "spreading" around the world. The Arabians have always been known to be loyal, strong, and trustworthy. Arabians have been used in many pieces of historic art and literature. Arabians were known to be important throughout history!
