Arriving

Me and my mother arrived. I put my gloves on and as we got to the entrance of the stables I put my half chaps on as the owner of the stables put Tommy’s bridle on. I then mounted and we checked the tack.

Lesson

After me and another girl walked into the arena we trotted after everyone else. We then did a few laps at trot.

I was told to stop Tommy so I did. Everyone else carried on trotting till they got behind me. I then trotted and was leading the group.

We then did some diagonal swaps from each rein.

After that we all stopped and cantered one at a time. Everyone apart from me got their leads wrong..

We then focussed on the three quarter lines.

We trotted through them and down the diagonal line. Then we cantered. Everyone did there’s fine.

Tommy then cantered but as we got to the top he trotted. I asked for canter at the corner but he just sped up trotting to cookie.

I then backed him up and turned on a 20 metre circle before asking for canter in the corner. He cantered but went back to cookie. I then did the same and he cantered going down the diagonal finally!

As he got to the bottom I turned him and he stuck his head down so he nearly face planted. I stayed on and just did a circle to slow him to trot.

I tried to slow him to walk so I did another circle. But he cantered that before I did a tight circle and again he cantered before walking.

We walked back to Cookie. We did a lap of walk before trotting a few laps and then doing a few laps of walks.

After lesson

I untacked and booked another lesson and then we went off.
