Lacey was thrilled to hear she'd been picked for the vasteuro rehab. The horse she'd been assigned was a silver black colt, freshly weaned from his mother. While she would've loved to fly out to pick him up, it wasn't convenient for her to leave for over a week. She had him shipped out to the ranch instead, bringing him to the United States via plane.

"Can you believe it?" She asked Freja, who rolled her eyes playfully at her girlfriend.

"Well, he's yours now. Do you want any help? He don't seem too wild." Freja said, adjusting her hat to block the sun.

"Hm, maybe. Give me some time to gentle him first. Don't wanna overwhelm him too quick. But you're right, he does seem pretty calm. Aw, look at the twig in his bangs! Poor guy." She frowned dramatically at him.

"I'll let you get to it then." The black-haired girl patted Lacey on the back, walking back towards the main barn.

Lacey leaned over the fence, watching him absolutely smitten as he shuffled the sand around with his nose. He walked quickly around the pen, clearly a bit stressed. "I bet you're hungry, poor baby. I hope you like timothy hay."
