do you think the insectoids in hollowknight/silksong are from human origin or alien?

because I saw the exodus game and lore and it's incredible, and thus was inspired to make this

because the world of hollowknight is very left up to interpretation so I can't help but assume all of the insectoid characters you see or most of them are from humanity who greatly evolved or genetically altered themselves into multiple new species a developed unique biological traits which is why they are bipedal and are potentially bigger than humans

but that's just my thoughts on this what do ya think?
