i. TEASER

────────────────────────

“We bare the blood of checkered knowledge, our dynasty is absolute.”

Mother had always been porcelain cunningness, she’d never once told a lie, yet honesty was all too sickening for her to plague her mouth with. What Esfir couldn’t understand was that to her brother, Mother cracked just a little, just for him. It was a sick game of making her watch as Ilija got praised for the bare minimums, whereas Esfir, well, she got told to stay in the shadows of their greatness, so to not tarnish that pristine reputation. Though, what made this dilemma a little more hectic than the average Mother-Daughter clash was that they were Gods, born with the right to rule and the hand that trickles power down. Now, Esfir was a little less than a God, so the rest of them say. Children of Gods, officially known as Eryse, were born of biological ways, in comparison to their parents, who were born of the supernova’s. Their origins set them so apart that even the greatest Eryse could never sit at the High Order’s table. Yet, there was a nagging pull at Esfir to question this prejudice towards her kind, it made no sense for a person born from two Gods to not ever topple over the old system; they were always seated below the elders, below the Gods with fickle powers.

Esfir could kill somebody with a touch. Corrupt their DNA into ash. It was a horrible sight to witness, the decaying scent of flesh and iron and honey would linger in the Court for months after a God was put to death. They rarely do it anymore due to the worrying lack of Gods being churned out by the stars anymore, and after the Civil War, Esfir is sure that there will never be quite so many Gods ever again. Yet, whenever a God has been too bad, too sinister towards its mortal creations, or committed a crime against another’s creations, they would call Esfir up to that golden stage, sparkling and clean, to give the God their last touch. She didn’t know if it hurt or not, the whole process barely lasted a few seconds, depending on the size of the God, and it always, without a doubt, started with their hands. They’d turn grey, before cracking open before the eyes of their kin and bleeding on that golden stage before becoming a puff of smoke. They all said they’d mourn, place the flag of the God in their realms in honour of the life they lived, but they lied. Esfir knew they lied with no remorse for who she just killed, because they were competition, an obstacle for the rest of the Gods. They all celebrated, raised a toast for the sly bastard who finally got caught in the misdeeds of their own creation, none of them were innocent, and perhaps that’s why Esfir could bare to kill them, get rid of a hulking 18’ body of enormous power and the years to back it up, because if they weren’t dead, millions of weaker bodies would be.

Mother allowed them to toy with her, her disgraced daughter of death, it was her only use in the Court considering her twin brother had the power of life. He was a valued Prince, beloved, beautiful, and important. In this Era of Peace, Ilijas power of revival could be utilised for injured gods, or missions on Earth to restore faith. Esfir was their executioner, their Grim Reaper, wicked and deplorable and cruel. They were two sides of the coin, her and her brother, capable of much more than what was expected. But the division of their status, the long jump that Ilija would have to take to reunite with Esfir after the Court made it known they were different, well, he never took that jump.

Life continued. A harrowing and long 19 years for Esfir, who would live until the universe died, who would continue to kill and kill and kill, one day refused to put another on the chopping block of that vast golden stage. It was one of the mere humans one of the Gods picked up as a lover, a chubby woman of a brown complexion, long curled hair and eyes of midnight. She’d heard this woman had been a poet and learned the Old Language to commune her despairs to the Gods when she was naive and wanted nothing more than rain. Now, she was sat cowering on Esfir’s stage with a rounded belly, hard with life inside, and the Gods never did like errors in their plans, did they?

Ilija looked positively thrilled from his seat, clad in a stark white suit and vest, a golden pin clipping his white tie, the pin was in image of a wide-eyed bird, the Turnel, symbol of wisdom, and it’s eyes were studded rubies, staring at Esfir’s own muted, white eyes. Their family’s colour was white, and they made it evident that it was the holiest colour of all, as everybody in the family, Esfir, Ilija and Mother and Father, had white hair, white eyes, white skin, and wore nothing but white. It made her job all the more harder, as the usual golden blood of the Gods would spill and stain her, physically marring her away from her clean and pristine family, it twisted in her gut that she would never be one of them, not when she did this. However, she was more concerned with Ilija, and why he had that smile on his face, with his fangs creating an eerie atmosphere that disrupted the air around him, electric in his pleasure of watching a mortal die. Did he have something to do with this? Esfir looked down at the woman, her face swollen with punches, and a deep red word cut into her face, ‘Calio’, or in common tongue, ‘Whore’. Immediately it clicked. This woman, a beloved of a God, expected to worship his feet and pump out Demigod after Demigod to carry on a legacy of power, had ran off with another. Her eyes searched the crowd even more, looking for somebody with sick satisfaction that reeked as much as her brother’s, but none came. Everybody else, surprisingly, looked tense. As footsteps boomed from the backstage, Genesis saw who the woman belonged to. His foot was larger then that of his woman, and as Esfir looked up, she saw curls upon curls of bright red hair, some parts braided, some parts wrapped around another piece, his beard was tended to and long, tied by the chin, and his skin was rosy and piggish. Gaaios, Warrior God of the Grasslands, father of over a thousand demigod bastards, husband of none. He wasn’t an Ancient, but he had lived through the Civil War, bore witness to three God births, and had zero Eryse children, which was a statement to the Court that he trusted none. His eyes told a million stories, ones of lust-filled nights with human fancies, or that of war and death, that this mere execution meant nothing to him.

“Kill the wretch, erase every stain of her worthless blood from these halls.”He spoke, his voice even and loud. The woman’s sobs could barely be heard over his voice, like that of a melody calling for Esfir to get it over with, just like he said.

Yet, there was a specific fear within her, that her brother had done this. Gotten her pregnant and reported it, but why? She knew he could cruel, taunt and point fingers to get his own way, but to directly cause death? Another sharp pang rattled her stomach. How could Ilija be so selfish? If ever this woman spoke about who did this, the whole House of Wisdom would be done for! Turned to ashes, their realm pillaged and destroyed and left to rot.

The woman understood this fear, Esfir knew. By the way those eyes looked up at her, at her empty white eyes and recognised her brothers’ gaze within them, the way she shuddered and held her stomach, hard and warm. With the way her lips, cracked and chipped like a cheap acrylic painting rounded over four little words.

‘He will find you.’

ii. GENERAL

────────────────────────

birth full name

esfir libitina

birth name meaning

Before the collapse of their relationship, when Esfir was a merely a fruit in her mother’s stomach, her parents had large and generous expectations of her. Being the Holy Family of Wisdom, their daughter needed to be just as precocious as the title suggests, therefore they named her after the stars they themselves burst from. The family have no surname, deeming such things too trivial and human, so when Esfir was exiled to the Earthly realms, she used her accursed trial name, Libitina, as her surname. Her trial name was gifted once her talents to corrupt and decay any living matter were seen by the Court, deeming her a dangerous and unstable error in their plans.

genesis thunderborne, saviour of the grave, executioner

meaning of aliases/nicknames/etc.

It was the sailor’s that gave her the nickname ‘Genesis’, after seeing her appearance of all-porcelain white, her eyes that bore holes into their very soul, they saw her as the personification of a new age being ushered into their drab lives of plague, torture, and death. After she saved a boat under the name ‘Indilux’ , she was given this name in a complete wash away of her prior identity of the corrupt daughter of the Wisdom Family. She gave herself the surname of Thunderborne, recalling the title beint used upon her twin brother.

Due to Genesis’ acclimation for the decaying and withered souls on Earth, she saved many bodies from rotting and spreading plague further by kissing their sickened bodies and allowing them to die quick. She could not promise it was painless. Therefore, it was again the people that gave her the title of being a saviour.

──

birth

earthly date: 22/12/xxxx

Born on the Winter Solstice, Genesis has always been surrounded by hibernation and the temporary halting of everything for months on end. Life did not flourish when she had been born. Yet, her parents were excited for her birth, though whether that is because she is part of a set, an exclusive pair of god-spawn that no other God could claim, is something she still cannot answer. There was extreme thunderstorms that occurred during her and her brothers birth, with the Palace of Calx facing the brunt of its force, with deep and meandering cracks along its white exterior, the golden roof split in half, rendering the East Wing uninhabitable.

──

age/age range

19

Genesis is one of the youngest in the God Court, being born a mere nineteen years ago. Physically she is nineteen, mentally she is nineteen. Yet, being created by two beings that were themselves burst from supernova’s, Genesis, along with the rest of God-Spawn, is immortal. Her body will freeze over, permanently stopping all signs of mortality when she is at her physical prime and peak, which many of the Gods have wagered will be when she is old and small and beyond her use; it is a cruel wager that the Goddess of Fate warned against betting on, for karma always will strike its worst foes.

──

biological sex

female

gender

woman

──

sexuality

bisexual

Genesis doesn’t totally understand attraction in the ways her friends do. Being raised in a Court that arranged everybody’s marriages based on growth of power, Genesis doesn’t understand the simplicity of love. Alongside this, she doesn’t label herself, thinking that it would be too earthly to define oneself by a word for the rest of her life. She has had encounters with men and women, but prefers women. Yet, she can’t envision a future with anybody by her side, knowing innately that she’ll be alone; though whether this is because of her neglectful upbringing or a wish for loneliness, Genesis would never say.

──

species

Eryse

The official title of children of two Gods is Eryse, deriving from the Gods species name of ‘Styrese’, meaning they descended from the stars, whereas Eryse has implications of coming from the Earth, as the Gods energy comes from the Earth. However, the more commonly used way to refer to the Eryse is ‘God-Spawn’, a derogatory insult that refers to the fact that they will never surmount to their parents greatness, forever being ‘spawn’ of their God.

──

social status

Complicated…

Within the Court, when she still identified with her given name ‘Esfir’, she was worse than a nobody. Technically, she was part of the uppermost society of the Court, due to her Mother being a step-below the Ancient High Order, however the power Esfir holds made her a dangerous enemy to the Order, forcing her to live in the shadows and stop taking the traditional lessons one would give to a child of high status. As the Executioner, she was feared by all, and already has myths floating around Earth about her deadliness, her cold heart and lack of conscience, she is known as the Daughter of Death.

Yet, when she is exiled to Earth, slowly the myths about her become rumours she easily dispels, as she saves numerous lives and becomes the leader of the revolutionary army against the Court, finding herself toe-to-toe with her legendary twin brother, known throughout each realm as ‘Lifebringer’, one who should’ve supposedly fought alongside the humans. It is here were the alias of ‘Genesis’ truly forms, as she fights back against years of bullying, prejudice and torment in the form of her brother, and proving to the Gods she was so much more than an error in their plans, she would be the Catalyst that would bring them down.

──

occupation

(former) Executioner, (former) Leader of the Revolutionaries, (current) Gravesinger

As the God Court’s sole executioner, Genesis was renowned for her power of ‘corrupted kill’, a distant way to see one be killed. She was given the job at age 10, which even for the Eryse is a child. It was punishment for being born with the power to kill, yet she never complained, and perhaps that was the worst part, as she happily killed the sinner Gods, but she even would kill common people, earthlings and fellow Eryse for simple misgivings that couldn’t be forgiven, those kills will forever mar her soul unforgivable.

The most eventful period of her life would be when she led the Army against the Gods, years of planning went into each and every battle, spies would seek out certain Gods to ascertain their weaknesses, and finally, she alone would be the killer of her brother, the bringer of Chaos. Ilija was a sore subject for Genesis, as she has vibrant memories of them as children, as both were an extension of each other, each twin lacked what the other thrived in. Yet, as they got older, Chaos became so beloved he began to despise Genesis’ misgivings, and Genesis resented how easily he merged with the same Gods that would beat her and starve her. Yet, he was her twin, her other half of life, and killing him, though it was a mere touch, was something she couldn’t do.

Her current occupation lies in making sure the dead stay dead. By stopping her lessons, the Gods made sure her powers wouldn’t advance past being a murder weapon for them, but still shameful enough that she never revolted. With some tender care from The Witherer, Genesis realised her powers were deeper than corrupting a person, she could ease them into death, and ease their deathly dreams so that their souls would easily be reborn. It’s a bittersweet job, something her parents could’ve easily showed her how to do, but they were all too happy to neglect her in favour of Ilija. She weaves sweet melodies in the Old Tongue to guide dead souls into the River of Beyond, and allows them to finally meet the end reward, rebirth and rest.

iii. APPEARANCE

────────────────────────

overall appearance

initially, genesis strikes fear into anybody who spots her, due to her all-white appearance. She is a slender creature with knee length white hair, and most who first see her believe her to be an angel guiding them to death, causing common commotion of people begging her to let them live. Her beauty can’t be met by Earthly beauties due to the district ‘alien’ of her genetics, she has the blood of Gods, the blood of Stars, making her a distinct face that none forget.

Her eyes are a bright and terrifying white, making her appear much like a predator scoping out for prey when it’s nighttime, however, her eyes are genuinely very pretty once one gets over the initial fear. She has long, doll lashes and sharp angled eyes.

distinctive characteristics

Of course, the all-white appearance of Genesis sets her far apart from ordinary humans, and before she confessed her Godliness, many believed her still to be a divine send that would lead them to prosperity.

──

style

During the beginning of her stay on Earth, the freshly exiled Genesis still wore the fanciful white silks of her realm, delicate and representative of her holy station. Yet, of course the stains of mortality immediately caused her dress to tear, and many lonely nights caused people to tear at the silk for a quick penny. Once Kitson found her, he gave her a black cloak, a colour which immediately caused her to feel sick, as it showed that truly, she wasn’t a favoured member of her family, was she? But she wore the cloak and hid her shining appearance with its dark and gloomy colour. Soon, she took pride in breaking the cycle of the all-white clothes her family would always wear, finally, she wore red, orange, blue and green, and she was proud of that. During the war, she wore a red bodice adorned with gold plating, whereas her opposition, her family, wore white and silver. Truly, that day symbolised the snap of Genesis’ branch from the Holy Family of Wisdom.

extra details

Her favourite colour is a deep red, reminiscent of human blood. It was a shock to her when she found out humans bled red, as the Gods blood was always gold, and Eryse blood was bronze. Yet, the simple red blood bewitched her, as mortals were so simple, yet so fascinating.

────────────────────────

iv. PERSONALITY

────────────────────────

traits

- Genesis is newly learning the overwhelming sensation of comion, as it was never practiced in the God Court, but on Earth, so many people need help all at once, so many people who now rely on her for their day-to-day life.

- Despite this comion, Genesis is very closed off, not in the least due to the fact that life in the Court made her emotionally closed off, she trusts nobody, and nobody trusts her, that was life. Due to this, many can perceive Genesis as socially awkward, or perhaps even inept, when it comes to group settings.

- She is extremely brash and straightforward about her opinions, seen most intensely when facing an opponent. This was most evident for her friends when she was giving food out to an impoverished hamlet, and the mayor of the neighbouring city caused a fuss about ‘social hierarchy’ collapsing due to Genesis favouritism. We can conclude that the mayor never again starved the farmers of the hamlet, not after Genesis threatened him with his legacy being left to the air.

- When she isn’t helping people, or causing change within the neglected realm of Earth, Genesis can become deeply melancholic, falling into a dissociative depression that is all too like how she was in the Court. She has to be doing something to convince herself she is a good person, that all those she has killed won’t come back to haunt her, to suffocate her with their ashes. This causes her to never rest, never take a moment to herself, because she will destroy herself for even a moment of rest.

- Due to her position in the Court, Genesis can be shameless when it comes to talking and interacting with people, even though she was very low in the social hierarchy, she still came from a notable family, which meant people never truly corrected her way of talking, which leads to embarrassing conversations with humans wherein she’ll ask them truly impersonal questions, things she has picked up from her perceptive personality, such as ‘Why do you allow your husband to cheat on you?’. Seriously, Kitson has had to pick up the pieces of some unforgivable conversations.

- Genesis is very meticulous when it comes to her dreams, desires and will to change the order. No stone will be unturned, as they say, as she doesn’t want even a singular person to feel as though they have suffered during her changes, nor does she want a singular oppressor to feel as though they have gotten away with their sins. Perhaps this is due to her past as the Executioner, as every job must be done right to prove a point, alas, this meticulousness is both good and bad, as sometimes simple tasks could take her a few hours to make sure she’s done everything.

pet peeves

- Kitson’s shedded fur that he leaves all over the ship.

- When the snow in the Caklir Lands gets into her boots.

- People who breath very, very loud.

soft spots

- Her twin, Ilija.

- Roxanne’s soft singing during the twilight hours.

- Babies with big, round cheeks.

likes

- Cinnamon buns made in small bakeries.

- Fuzzy white socks with bunny ears on them.

- The way Roxanne braids her hair delicately, and ties it off with a red ribbon.

- The smell of the salty sea air whenever they have a good day on the boat.

- Sweet honey treats whenever they go to a market.

dislikes

- She has a deep dislike for people in power who act arrogant and uncaring for the people they are supposed to care for.

- The strong use of white in interior design.

- The feeling of sloppy sand between her toes.

- Her Mother.

- The importance placed on certain people’s lives over others.

hobbies

- Genesis really enjoys practicing her sword fighting, as she has to both turn off the desire to disintegrate the sword, as well focus on her opponent.

- She walks dogs in her spare time as well, she prefers the ones who can be bribed with treats, as she thinks she wouldn’t be so different.

- She paints for money after the war, yet it is unknown to many that her favourite piece was the one in memory of Ilija, sectioned away in a hidden part of her home.

──

behavior

How to describe Genesis’ outward persona is a question even her best friend struggles to put into words. She is both loving and distant, opinionated but stuttering. A true enigma. Yet, to the masses that she performs to, they would all say she is magical, a person deserving of the throne, and somebody who would never lie to them. True, she never once told a village a sugar-coated lie, no, she was upfront about their poor crops, their traditional views that made them backwards, and their poor hygiene. But the people enjoyed this, as she never meant it the way the Knights did, she never sneered at them, rather she provided what they needed to change, taught them to unlearn the ways their grandparents had instilled into them, and educated their children in language and money.

The more intimate Genesis is only really seen to the people close to her, who see her as a girl who can’t handle the enormous weight of her sins, who desperately wants to claw away at the hierarchy that doomed her, only her closest allies can see how she tenderly treats little girls who get overlooked in favour of their brothers, as she hands them a Cherry Bakewell. Perhaps it is a good thing that only those closest know this, as they never point it out the way the masses would. It is an intimate and personal thing for Genesis to treat the girls the way she yearned to be treated.

On the flip side, nobody would want to be on the bad side of Genesis, as she is a raging, unforgiving creature when she is upset. Many humans tend to forget they are talking to an Eryse, a mythical creature that rarely step foot on Earth, when they speak to Genesis, as they oft converse with her as they would a peasant, which is the first mistake. Though she sympathises with the struggles of the peasantry, she is not one. She has come from a womb lined with power and authority to such an amount that it’s something that humans couldn’t achieve in five lifetimes.

──

goals/desires/hopes

Her prime desire is to see the world be changed, it’s a childish and naive hope yet by the time she falls to Earth, many back her cause due to the lacklustre way of life. One such person was Sinclair, a man doomed to live forever due to his former lover cursing him to wait for him, and Sinclair has watched his city fall, his friends die, and in meeting Genesis, all he can hope is that stability is restored. Her first goal is to be rid of slavers and people who criminally underpay their employees. Strangely, despite the overwhelming desire of the people to see Genesis rule them, she has no interest in that, and refuses to be their Queen or set up another dynasty that would inevitably oppress them.

A more secret desire is that Genesis still wants her family’s approval, just a small nod that she was good enough. She knows it will never happen, but still, that little girl inside of her wants her brother to bring her along to his play dates, and for her mother to smile down at her, just once.

phobias/fears

Her biggest fear is herself. The court had manipulated her into being their Executioner, and she knows her powers are corrupt and evil, she’s a killer and can kill a thousand more if she wanted to, which is what scares her. The rearing head of that inner monster is constantly within her, begging her to let loose, and that her goals would be achieved far more quickly if she killed those with arrogance. The inner battle is constantly being fought.

v. HEALTH

────────────────────────

physical

Genesis’ health has never been much of a concern, physically at least, as she has an immune system that is incredibly strong against most sicknesses, however, she got fatally ill during the first few weeks she was on Earth, as she wasn’t used to all the new bacteria and virus’ that were constantly evolving. As well, she has healed scars from her youth littered over her body, most notably a scar on the outer corner of her lips, which she got from one of the Gods lashing out at her before his execution, his bladed skin slashing her face before he fully disintegrated.

mental

Genesis suffers from depression, a type which makes her sit alone all day, all week, eating nothing and speaking to nobody. This first crept up when she was in the Court, and she had no choice but to be lonely, and she began to see herself as a monster, a large, evil monster. Of course, many won’t notice she suffers due to her active nature, but once she has that bad day, any step of progress is gone, and she spirals beyond comprehension, seeing the world as a child’s drawing, and herself the evil dragon who tries to kill the beautiful people.

The largest of her suffering is that Genesis will live on and on, a marble statue among the living, breathing and aging people. She hates herself and all that she’s done in the few years she’s lived, so she’d rather die, and has attempted to do so many times in each area she’s been too, whether it be the Court or Earth, but now that she is away from the Court and their shaded view of her, she has stopped putting so much thought into her despair of herself.

────────────────────────

vi. ABILITIES, POWERS, & STATS

────────────────────────

disintegration

This power is what caused it all, for if she’d been born like Ilija, she would’ve been celebrated. Alas, they were night and day, and she was born with power to kill and corrupt a persons body. Disintegration causes ones DNA to permanently fracture from within, starting from the skin cells, which causes the appearance of grey skin, cracked and flaky like ash. It is one of the worst pains a person can go through, even in the short time it takes to kill them, as they feel each bond break from within them. She can ‘turn off’ her power by focussing its flow into something stronger than what she is touching, oftentimes wearing thick leather gloves when touching others in order for the leather to meet the flow of her magic, it is also why she never has fist fights, as it is an unfair advantage.

drawbacks

She can’t disintegrate many of the Gods due to their size, which means half the time in her executions, the God goes through insurmountable pain by her, only to be killed at a later point. Therefore, even though she has killed many minor Gods, she is not the killer of the major Gods, typically that acclaim goes to the Ancient High Order, who bring the now decrepit and flaky God in and stab them with the blades of meteors and asteroids, not dirtying their own hands.

Salis Blade

Salis was forged down on Earth from a miniature asteroid that fell in the Autumn of Genesis’ arrival. After mining out the necessary materials herself, Genesis asked a Blade-smith who had travelled across the planet to forge it for her. He had styled it in in memory of the scriptures that the Gods had left for mortals, creating an alien-like forked blade. By using this relatively sly weapon, Genesis can ‘turn off’ her power by controlling her disintegration into the thick meteor metal. As well, when taught by the Kronan’s, Genesis learns how to channel her magic through the blade, causing an acute disintegration to her opponent when she attacks, through the forked blades.

drawbacks

Due to the nature of her magic, Salis will one day disintegrate near the handle, it will be a while, sure, but it’ll still be destroyed. As well, due to it being a smaller weapon, it is hard for her to use it during the larger battles they have later in the war, meaning she has to use generic weapons that don’t truly do much to the Godly opponents.

Genesis and Ilija’s powers perfectly mirror one another, as one gives life, the other brings death. This used to highlight the difference in their gloomy versus optimistic personalities, yet, it hides the fact that Ilija doesn’t care much for humanity beyond what they can give him. Genesis, meanwhile, adores humanity and wants to bring them to justice for the millennia’s of terror Gods have reigned upon them. Now, it is known that the one who brought life unto fallen comrades wished to prolong their suffering in sick pleasure, whereas the one who brought death only wanted to lead them to a peaceful afterlife.

ilija ‘chaos’

twin brother | 19 | unknown | distant | il-yah

Arguably Ilija has had the largest impact on her life, simply by being born alongside her, he outshined her. He is a twisted, mean and selfish man that wants nothing more than power. He wants what no other Eryse could ever achieve, true Godhood. By doing this, he wants to create a dynasty so that he could never be assassinated, by taking the role of the God of the Sun (which is oftentimes a title that people murder another for), Ilija would marry a Styrese, a true God, and create his family line. Genesis is both in the way of this, and the largest puzzle piece, as he wants to anoint her to the position of the Goddess of the Moon, and have her create a cadet branch of the dynasty, a plan B, if things go wrong. Later in their future, they come toe-to-toe in an all out war, wherein both cannot kill the other. Deep down, Ilija loves his sister, so desperately that he wants her to never depend on anybody but him, as he knows her full potential. That is why he goes into hiding after their battle, and it is unknown if he lived from the injuries carved into him by the Revolutionaries. A larger point of contention is the fact he has a bastard in the Earthly realm, mothered by the human woman on Genesis’ stage, the child being born in secret and sent away when the Gods still believed she was pregnant. This child, a son, grows into a large obstacle for both Genesis and Ilija.

roxanne

girlfriend | 20 | alive | loving but strained

Roxanne is from the cozy South, from a rich and indulgent kingdom in which her Father was a government official. Bathed in sunlight, Roxanne became enamoured by Genesis when the latter reformed the kingdom by creating the Scott Schools, a chain of education for the poorer folk to learn about money so that they could escape poverty. Roxanne was a devout choir girl in her youth, and learned the Old Tongue, which allowed her to communicate to the Gods in her gospels. Genesis and Roxanne’s relationship is strained, however, due to the distance Genesis puts between them, as she can’t cope knowing one wrong move could kill Roxanne.

kitson

best friend | 19 | alive | the pinnacle of comradeship

Kitson was the first person to ever take pity on Genesis, and despite her shortcomings, he took her in on his small canoe, and eventually due to her prowess in battle, they managed to fight their way into getting a larger boat. Kitson had always wanted to set sail, he dreamed of being a Captain, and was forever indebted to Genesis for her ability to give him that dream. He’s a Cat-Hybrid, having fluffy, ginger ears at the top of his head, and a swishing tail that will always give away his true feelings.

koroleva

mother | 1,670,450 | deceased | bitter

The Goddess of Wisdom never once mothered her daughter, not once took pity on the small sapling below her. She was the Queen, and Genesis her pawn. There was never any physical abuse, but Koroleva would never acknowledge her daughter as being worthy in any way, which is why Genesis ended up as the Executioner in the first place, as a sick, cunning punishment for Genesis having the power of death. When finally they meet after years of Genesis’ exile, Genesis feels no mercy for the marble woman in front of her, unfeeling and no ounce of comion. She was a statue. For sure, the Goddess of Wisdom’s death is absolute.

viii. BACKSTORY

────────────────────────

“Ilija! Ilij-aaa”

Two small children, identical and soft and rounded, both with long hair, both with perfect sets of teeth. The Holy Family of Wisdom’s heirs, their perfect set of little dolls. Esfir and Ilija barely heard their own names outside of each other’s mouths, otherwise it was a title they were addressed by, Her Serene Highness, His Noble Highness. Children, mere children, being bowed to by servants triple their height.

Their hair gave them away immediately, white as the stars, no other family, no other dynasty shared this attribute, only them and their parents, and somehow this small feature of theirs called for much respect, as their Mother said, they were ‘the most holy’ of all the Gods, their connection to the stars more concentrated.

“Esfir!”

To say their names was a hidden joy, a sweet pleasure only they were allowed to indulge in, like a toffee from the Earthly realms. Identical, the twins were, in appearance and pleasures.

They held their stubby little hands clasped together as they wandered down the meandering marble path, tufts of grass and the outstretching gardens beyond them, and it was there that this identical life ended.

“Esfir, the flower…”Ilija mumbled, dragging his sister away from their routine, over to a withering flower, not yet dead. Its petals should have been a brilliant red, like the blood of the humans, or of the most loveliest strawberry jam, instead they looked brown near the edges, and the stem was limp.

It was a sad little state of affairs, this flower, but Esfir didn’t understand why Ilija was so hung up on it.

“Come on-They said they had Carcle Cake tonight-“Esfir begins, worrying her bottom lip between her teeth, Mother hated them being late and dirty.

“One minute” Definitive, strong and ridiculously bold for a little boy of six. Esfir was quiet and stood meekly behind her brother as he crouched down and placed his palm over the flower’s roots, wishing it a safe age to its death.

“Esfir, Ilija!”

His hand touched the grass tenderly, his eyes shutting over, and there was a slight spark between fat fingers and the sharp blades of grass.

“Ilija, what are you doing in the dirt?”

Their Mother approached quicker, noticing her son dirtying his white shorts.

“You know what I said about this dinner.”

Ilija wasn’t listening, whispering small prayers to the Dead Gods, harshly cutting his syllables.

Mother stood tall and terrifying over the two little children, white opulence in the face of her curious children. Her red lips opened to shout, throat bobbing in scolds and punishments and insults, only for breath to come out; her dirtied son was glowing, and the little withered flower grew, petals as red as her lips, roots extending under the marble path.

He’d brought it back to life. Pumped life into it before it died.

Suddenly Mother’s eyes were on Esfir, expectant. Selfishness gleamed in her empty eyes, and her twisted mouth became a grin, large and slim hand moving to Esfir’s back, ushering her towards the miracle.

Twins, a set, identical. Mother had a pair of Lifebringers.

Or so she thought.

Esfirs hand went to the roots of the flower, Ilija staring at her with diminished excitement, leaning on Mother’s leg for stability.

Only, once connection was made, the flower withered back again, only it didn’t stop at the point it had been, rather those red-brown petals became ash, the stem split open and oozed sap and sugar, and the marble path split from the roots arching up in agony.

Twins. Identical in only appearance, as they had been born as foils, as opposites in the most extreme way: life and death.

Ever since, the two had never fully reconnected, as Ilija was the Prince of the Court, the Lifebringer, and Esfir was the Executioner, the two didn’t mix well, unfortunately. Their Mother also shadowed Esfir out of their public lives, as her daughters depression made her unpleasant to propose marriages for, and her record of murder wasn’t enticing to many. Those days of fat limbs intertwined were gone, and that was that.

The day of Esfir’s elimination, the ultimate scare tactic, was the day she refused to kill. Another human, another mistress, just like the one her brother had used for his own political gains. She had soft green eyes and blonde hair, and all Esfir could think that she was one with the Stars. A blessed human. And it was there, with bile between her teeth, she refused to murder anybody else. Immediately, her own death was issued, but her parents, her Mother, was still concerned about reputation, and as a High Lady in the Court, she ordered that Esfir would take a pilgrimage on Earth.

She didn’t argue.

Out. Out. Out. Out. Out. Out.

She needed to be away, out of this Court, away from the line of grovelling humans, from the sickening stench of pleased Gods. Earth, though humble and obviously a way to humiliate Esfir, was the only way.

x. EXTRA

extra info.

Genesis comes during a time of

‘A.V’, ‘After Valentin’, who was a Kronan who unleashed five years of terror upon the world. Kronan’s are creatures who attribute their maker to be The Witherer, and they were born to be Whisperers to him. However, over time, the Kronan’s bred with other species, and ended up with less and less mana, so The Witherer made their mana storage smaller, which brings the problem of Valentin. He was born was a supreme amount of mana, like the Ancient Kronan’s, and it bled through the storage space, which nearly killed his Mother when he was in the womb. When he was born, many things were found to be wrong with him, and he took a mixture of poison and medicine to treat the pain, and eventually had a leg amputated. He found great success in studying, and created a legion of robots. However, due to the accidental murder of a soldier and an old man, alongside the wounding of a small girl, Valentin was kicked out of his academy due to his robots being dangerous, and he entered a pit of despair. Within this despair, he met the Angels, a sister-species of the Kronans, who convinced him to plan out a genocide to be rid of the weaklings that populated the Earth and kicked him to the curb. Here lies his genocide, and soon, he himself died, but due to ancient Kronan magic, he tied himself and Sinclair together, causing his soul to be repurposed. His reign of terror is taught to every child, though many do not know his lover, Sinclair, is still alive, and many do not show him empathy for the human-inflicted pain of the poison addiction. Living in an A.V world means many kingdoms lost their cultures, and Genesis was the first to point out that this cultural loss caused economic decline and a loss in population as many moved away.

Ilija’s demigod child, Tedrose ‘Teddy’ Lark, fought both his aunt and his Father, as the death of his Mother was directly due to Genesis. However, learning of her struggles, he comes not to forgive her, but understand. Teddy’s birth was a miracle as well, as he’d been born days prior to Gaaios’ return and subsequent wrath at seeing his mistress pregnant with a child that wasn’t his. His Mother knew this would happen, knew she couldn’t raise him, so sent him to Earth to her own parents with a letter explaining why she’d been missing for a terribly long time. It was harrowing, learning of Teddy and his life, as he was identical to Ilija, though his skin was brown like his Mother. He harbours resentment tenfold to anybody else Genesis had met, and was a reliable warrior for them during the Revolution, as he wanted end every life that enchained his sweet Mother to such a life with Gaaios. He wanted to end the entire institution, and Genesis knew her brother was number one on Teddy’s list.
