In the past Souma was a timid boy, not having many dreams because he was afraid of failure, due to his family being known for their impressive feats in the magic wars way back in the day. He was held to an important standard, which was often the reason he was away at times when it became too much to handle. It wasn’t until he was 12 when he finally began progressing, which was because of his mentor, Lisa. She was always the energetic type who always tried to push her students to their best versions. When it came to Souma, she saw herself in his eyes. A small, scared child who wasn’t even aware of what they could do yet. As Souma grew up, he took Lisa’s teachings to heart, and became more confident in himself. By time he reached 16, he was already a cheerful boy, who’d broken free from the shackles which once held him back from realizing his own potential. Currently, he’s seen as a happy individual who tends to come off as goofy, despite being powerful.

Souma is often referred to as a reckless idiot who moves before even giving it a second thought. Aside from that though, he’s stated to be a hardworking individual with a clear goal in mind. He’s denoted as crazy because of all the reckless experiments he does in a life-or-death situation, which not only puts himself at risk, but people around him as well. This is more to his curious side, since he hardly ever gets to try his new ideas. He’s a clever boy, but he tends to just practice these things at the worst times.

Souma possesses a lean, toned build, and he’s a man of slightly above average height. He has spiky black hair, black eyes, and strangely perfect teeth. He wears a white bandage on his face to hide a scar he received during training with his past instructors. He has black . He wears a black t-shirt with a white insignia going along the chest area, and down the back as two straight lines. He wears baggy black pants which are tucked into black and white boots. He’s also been seen with goggles, but those were destroyed in one of his previous battles. Other times, he wears the inverse of his predominantly black shirt, along with a jacket over it.

Peak Physical Performance: Souma has been noted to be extremely powerful for someone his aged and this is just in physical status. He’s not human, so it’s somewhat understandable. But as far as physical condition for a 18 year old goes, it’s still a little weird. He doesn’t have anything super flashy in of base magic, so he had to train his physical body so he wouldn’t be left behind in that standard. Despite his size, he’s far stronger than any existing bodybuilder, which is saying something when you think about how much damage they could do. His flexibility, pain tolerance, and overall striking power and speed are something to be feared when coming face to face with him. His defenses are amazing, but it’s not his best quality, since he has enhanced physical strength and speed to help him in a pinch.

Reactive Adaptation: Straightforward thing. The ability to adapt to any immediate threat in order to strengthen yourself further. You can do it through an intake of damage, or just fighting against someone strong in general. There have been many instances of where he’s grown at alarming rates to fight those who were stronger than him on multiple occasions.

Limited Precognition: Through his past experiences against high-level combatants, Souma developed the ability to be able to predict the movements of an attacker subconsciously, and react to it properly. However, if he cannot see the person, he can’t react. This also ties into his ability to see the muscles movements and contractions of the target, which allows him to work more efficiently in general combat.

Master of Chi/Ki Control and Utilization: Since Souma didn’t have anything big at first, he had to do some research on things he already had. During his research, he found that “Ki” was quite a useful thing to be able to utilize at his own convenience. He meditated, he trained, he maintained, and he repeated the practice. After a few months of this training, he mastered the concept and began to utilize it in actual combat. He can use it as a natural barrier, and even use it to interfere with other forces that are present, much like his general ability. By witnessing the flow of energy in one’s body, he can accurately determine what they could/would do next. He can even notice the slightest of fluctuations, which can come from just movement alone.

Master of Hand-to-Hand Combat- Growing up when “The Fool” was just a small cloud of black dust, Souma had to find a way to defend himself. So during his strength, stamina, and reflex training, he had to also work on actual hand to hand combat. There have been too many times when he thought he could handle it with abilities alone, but was proven extremely wrong. Through several years of training and buildup, he came up with his own fighting style. It consists of calm, controlled movement when he goes on the defensive. Then it jumps to incredibly fast and powerful attacks with no wasted movement when going on the offensive. When combined with his ability to read ki and whatnot, he can use it to naturally strengthen his physical capabilities, or see what the opponent can do next via minor ki projection and flow.

•𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲•

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝗼𝗼𝐥

The main ability of Souma. The primary use of this ability is to disrupt the natural order of things in the best way possible to dominate the enemy. These are in the form of disruption, and destabilization currently. In his normal state, he can only mess with things on a smaller scale. In his awakening state, he can REALLY mess things up when he gets to that point. His ability name was originally from Lisa, who often called him a fool for using such a risky ability at the worst times. So, he made it the official name, which is what it’s listed as now. He can mess with fundamental laws, but with limitations that keep him bound to only a certain level of it. When he awakened, he was able to destabilize existences aside from his own, making him a great threat. When using this ability, green markings appear on his body, which lets you know when he’s using it. This can also be seen in the form of black lightning when it’s in instant use state. When using his max power(pre-awakening), these marks cover. His torso, arms, back, face, neck, and legs. So basically- his whole body. He can only fight at max power for 15 minutes before his limiter kicks in and drops him back down to 20%. His maximum is 60% outside of his awakening. This shoots up to 80% in the incomplete awakening.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝗼𝗼𝐥: 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝗼𝐧

In this phase of Souma’s main ability, Souma has the ability to destabilize anything he touches, or by external sources. If he were to touch something- say, a fireball. The fireball would end up falling all over itself, and never come to function as intended due to its essential factors being destabilized. This can work on people as well, but there’s a big limitation to it. The most he could do with it on the actual person would be to make a part of their body lose functionality for about two hours. It’s essentially a distortion in a single molecule, which spreads out more at an alarming rate. This is meant to really just throw things out of balance when he activated this ability. He can even destabilize his very molecular structure for just a short duration in order to phase through physical structures, and even speed himself up. But if he stays that way for too long, he can really end up hurting himself. Worst he’d end up is dead.

         •𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝗼𝐧: 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝗼𝐫𝐭𝐢𝗼𝐧 𝐒𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬- An external variation of the destabilization ability. Basically, by focusing his energy into spheres no bigger than a baseball, he can reach targets from a further distance to use the destabilization.

        •𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝗼𝐧: 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐡𝗼𝐜𝐤 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐭- By concentrating his destabilization ability in his fist, he can deliver a drilling punch to the desired target in order to destabilize whatever the actual fist, or the shockwave actually hits. While the shockwave is only able to destabilize external things such as artificially generated elements or abilities in general, it doesn’t affect the physical person aside from pushing them back. The fist is what you’d need to look out for, since it’s rather powerful. Imagine a drill spinning at incredibly high speeds just being rammed into you. Not a good feeling. Especially when it’s a blunt impact.

       •𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝗼𝐧: 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝗼𝐬 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞- Unlike the two other branch abilities, this is more of a trap placement. By focusing his destabilization in one spot(or several), he can place trap circles on the floor to catch his enemies. These circles can’t be seen during placement, but they disappear every 25 seconds they aren’t active for. So while they can’t be seen, they don’t last that long either. When one steps into the circle, they’ll find themselves immobilized while their muscles begin to destabilize, which should be rather painful. He can’t place these circles instantly, so he needs to be given a brief period of time to do this. He’s also unable to be affected by these circles if he steps on them, because of their inability to initiate friendly-fire.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝗼𝗼𝐥: 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝗼𝐧

In this phase of Souma’s main ability, he can disrupt anything he comes in with, such as supernatural forces, or physical forces or structures. Just like destabilization, even existences- but just in his awakening. He can even take advantage of the disruption to fix something in place, despite it never being there in the first place. If he were to latch onto a wall, he would normally fall down because of a natural law in place. But if he were to disrupt said law, or the molecular structure of the wall, he could make it so he’d stay on the wall. Until he himself came down on his own. As overpowered as that MIGHT sound, keep in mind that this is just an example for what he could do with non-living structures. It’s something that’s balanced out, since it’s not really always able to be put to use. He could disrupt certain systems as well, causing them to malfunction. These systems mostly being, but not limited to, supernatural and magical.

         •𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝗼𝐧: 𝐒𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠- By causing disruption in the general law of movement, he can cause sudden halting of physical motion, and act in that time. For example, if he was fighting someone and they threw a punch, he could disrupt their movement for a moment, and make his counterattack in that disruption. Or if he was to fall from a high place, he could disrupt the falling motion and land safely on the ground as if he just made a harmless jump from a small wall. This mostly just disrupts the fundamental law of movement, rather than manipulating the whole thing.

         •𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝗼𝐧: 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝗼𝐮𝐬 𝐖𝐚𝐯𝐞- By sending out a shockwave with a quick swipe of his hand, he can send out a wave that causes all abilities to malfunction when caught in it. Of course, it’s only for a limited time of 15 seconds. This can be used consecutively, but the time doesn’t stack. It resets, but where’s the point in that? When using this, he can’t move until the wave actually es, and the 15 seconds are actually going. So he can’t move in while using this, since that’d be disgustingly cheesy.

         •𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝗼𝐧: 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐭- Much like his spiral shock fist attack, he channels his energy into his fist, and condenses it whilst intensifying it during the condensing process. Then, when it’s at its critical point, he releases it in the form of a giant spherical blast which continues to travel, disrupting several laws in order to hasten its travel. This can be prevented, however. When it hits the target, they’ll find themselves completely confused, being unable to focus on anything, or anyone. There are no lasting effects for a long-term, but this is still extremely powerful. By keeping him in a situation where he can’t release this technique, the condensed energy will fade into nothing, and he’d have to start all over again.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐎𝐋: ???

𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝗼𝗼𝐥𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝗺

The awakening state of Souma. In this form, he takes on a more sinister appearance, along with a more ominous aura surrounding him. His hair changes to a pure white, and his eyes change to a purple color. Whatever clothes he wears on top gets destroyed as well, which is replaced by a tattered black coat which covers his upper body, as well as a tattered scarf. Despite their appearances, they actually defend him from quite a lot. From being nuked all the way to attempted erasure. Instead of the usual green markings on his body, he gets purple lines instead, and his arms take a pitch black color(aside from the purple lines on them). His pants also get lines on them, just like the arms. He can only hold this state for five seconds, and in these five seconds, he can accomplish quite a bit if he plays his cards right. His senses become much sharper, and he’s more in tune with his ability than he’d be outside of the form. When he really pushes it, he can last for another 3.1 seconds, which comes up to 8.1 seconds. At the last three seconds, his appearance will begin to revert. The moment his white hair reverts to black completely, he’s out of the form. Naturally, in this state he’s able to draw out more power, and accomplish much more than he did before. The first time he accessed this awakening state, he went berserk, and nearly threw everything out of balance. Nearly irreparable damage, really. Lisa had to fight him, and beat him into submission. Lucky for her, the awakening wasn’t complete, and could only amplify the pre-existing abilities slightly, which would be by about 1.5. As a result of using the complete awakening, he’ll end up ing out a little after he drops it, so he can keep fighting for about 10 more seconds.

He can use a partial release of this state, which only changes one of his eyes to a purple color, and the lines on the right side of his face to purple, while the front part of his hair becomes white. But the rest is more or less the same, in general appearance. The power increase from this is great, but it’s not as much as it could be. In both complete and incomplete states, he gains immense physical prowess, and stronger ability enhancement. But obviously- the complete stage is far superior. The only thing this one has over the complete state is that it can last longer. It can go on for about 10 minutes without drain, with 15 minutes being the upper limit.

𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞

Souma creates a small black sphere which immediately expands upon with something or someone. Upon expanding, the sphere consumes the target, sending them into a pitch black void which disperses whatever energy they have, and then closes, releasing them. He can keep it above his palm, or send it in as a projectile. Even if he’s too close, it’ll only consume the target, no matter how large they are. Within that void, he can control all that happens to them. It can crush them, stretch them, or even make parts of the body disappear.

𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐑𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞

By creating a slight disturbance in space with a high-powered punch, Souma can create a ripple effect, which causes a distortion in things such as reality, or even full space for a few seconds. It’s like water. If you tap it once, even just lightly, the ripples in the water spread out from the point of , and then home back in when it hits a wall or structure. It disturbs the stillness in water, which tends to take a little while to return to that stage after an interruption. The ripple continues outward for about a mile or so, and then returns to the point of interruption, creating a powerful shockwave.

𝐏𝐫𝐢𝗺𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐒𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞

Souma creates a gigantic black sphere of his energy which engulfs all it touches in a black mist, damaging them severely upon the explosion of the sphere. After being caught in the blast of this sphere, with the exception of Souma, you won’t be coming out without some big damage being dealt. You COULD survive it, since the chances aren’t super unfair. But you won’t be able to tank this, since the most common result would be a knockout or near-death callout. You’d be laying deep down in a large crater.

𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐂𝗼𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐬𝐞

One of Souma’s bigger moves, inspired by Lisa’s cosmic drop. By focusing all of his energy around his fist, Souma delivers an extremely powerful punch to the target, sensing them flying in a black and purple sphere of Souma’s energy which damages them each second until impact, where the bigger damage will be in play in the form of a wide-area explosion. You could die from this just like the other moves, but it’s not guaranteed. You have fair chances of survival, so it’s just not at 100%. Though, that would also mean you have a fair chance of being erased too.
