Janis sighed twisting her wedding rings around, they where always too tight for her finger. Her marriage was over thanks to a knife and a cold man. As she sat in the square room of four white walls she could see a one way window pearling her reflection at her.

She knew the other side of the mirror where watching eyes. The ticking of a clock rang in Janis ears as the metal door opened behind her. She did not turn around, she knew it was the detective here to try and make her say she killed her husband. “Mrs.Grey, I’d like to ask a few questions if you don’t mind”, a dark haired man with a tie and white shirt sat across the metal top table from her. She watched his eye movement as he spoke, they couldn’t look her in the eyes.

“Where where you the night of February 14th 2023 around 9 O’clock” the man started to shuffle through a pale folder with, “James Grey” marked on it.

“I was trying to find James ring in the drain, he was washing dishes and dropped them” her voice quivered as pain swelled in her throat.

“Can you tell me what happened that night?” The man seemed to be unfazed by her tears as he kept focused.

“After fishing through the drain catch, we couldn’t find the rings so we decided maybe a spirit would help us” she laughed slightly wiping her tears,

“a spirit?” The man rose an eyebrow…

”yes, we decided to play the ouji game, and someone answered, a shadow man. At first we thought he was a good spirit till the knife drawer opened, and that’s when he “ Janis started to sob in disbelief she cried and as she did, she looked down at her fingers and her rings where gone!

She she looked around and the room started to melt and shift into a squat room of padded walls, a woman sat infront of her now. “Janis, you have been in this asylum since you where 11, there was no house no husband and no Rings”
