Like many Hazbin fans, Alastor has absolutely charmed me. He truly steals the show but I think he makes a great foil to Charlie. While Charlie promotes redemption of the imortal soul through self-betterment, Alastor argues that the actions one committed in life damns them in death and residence in Hell is their just deserts.
One of my favorite Hazbin fanworks is the fan song "El Juego de Alastor", which interprets Alastor as a card-dealer who never cheats, yet somehow always wins. This card game serves as a metaphor for trying to beat eternal damnation. This piques my interest in what role Alastor intends to play, will he be a mere bystander, or actively sabotage other patrons' attempts at redemption by finding sly ways to enable self-destructive behavior?
