Angel Dust but crying and in drag

So uh, for the small group of people who were actually missing me and my art, I’m sorry I haven’t been able to post. It’s been what, 3-4 months since my last post? And that wasn’t even an art post, that was a poll to help me decide what to do because naive past self thought I’d have an abundance of free time in quarantine.

Not even 24 hours after I made that post

I realized it was a horrible mistake and I would be probably be too swamped with work for the rest of the summer to even dream of getting around to

drawing something for it.

So that sucked, but I think I’ve finally cleared enough off my plate to be able to come back and be just as slightly active as I was before. I still plan on doing the Alastor-Eeveelutions designs I said I would with my last poll, just...later. I want to get a bit better at character design first. Part of why I hadn’t posted was out of fear that people would be unhappy about the fact that I haven’t done those designs, which wasn’t good. It wasn’t helping anyone, and it was keeping me from being able to share my other fanart with you guys.

Sure, I was still doing some art for the

event team challenges, but it wasn’t the same

as having my own thing, ya know?

Like everyone else in this place, when I saw the Addict music video I flipped out and got super inspired. Angel has always been my favorite character, and I love how his rare character type gets some of the spotlight here. I knew about the song long before the video, but I hadn’t really liked it to be honest. I like songs that make me picture things. Like, what would the character be doing now? It’s kinda like everything has a music video or an animatic in my head. Addict just didn’t make me picture anything interesting, and it low-key gives me a headache.

I love the deep dive into the angst and backstory of Angel. It’s so interesting to see how he got to where he is. It reinforced in my mind what I had learned from the pre-comic; Valentino is an absolute monster and he doesn’t deserve his position of power over anyone, especially Angel.

I wanted to try the sketchy, thick lineart with the soft shading to try something new, and I think it turned out pretty well. What do you gifts think of it? Should I continue to use that style in other art? Feel free to comment any and all criticism, and you don’t have to waste your time sugar coating it. I want to learn here, I don’t need only complements.

I’m thinking of starting an instagram. Would you guys be cool with that? It wouldn’t only be hazbin art, it would be stuff for other fandoms too. Would you guys even wanna see other fandom content from me?
