Who’s Responsibility Should It Be To Maintain A Healthy Relationship?

Hi Potterheads!

This Homework is going to answer question #3: Whose responsibility, the wizard government or the muggle government, should it be to sustain a healthy relationship between the two societies while wizards are operating in secrecy?

While both societies need to work together to maintain a healthy relationship, a majority of the responsibility to do this lays on the wizarding society.

Most muggles aren’t aware of the existence of the wizarding world. It’s because of this wizarding law against telling muggles:

“Each wizarding governing body will be responsible for the concealment, care and control of all magical beasts, beings, and spirits dwelling within its territory's borders. Should any such creature cause harm to, or draw the notice of, the Muggle community, that nation's wizarding governing body will be subject to discipline by the International Confederation of Wizards.”

This is Claus #73 of International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy. What is that, you may ask? The International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy is a law laid down the the International Confederation of Wizards in 1692 to protect the secret of magic from non-wizarding folk. For every, there is a reaction. From the 15th-17th centuries, wizard-muggle relationships took a turn for the worst. With muggles persecuting witches and wizards, especially young ones that are unable to control their magic, things were looking bad. The wizarding population was decreasing, and they did what they had to to survive and co-exist with muggles, and went into hiding for good.

With magic on their side, wizards are the superior population, and I think they should be the ones to work on developing and improving the relationship. While a relationship takes two, wizards should be handling a majority of the responsibility it takes to form a healthy relationship, and keep it stabilized.
