Task One — Triwizard25

Welcome To The First Task!

Hello again HPA!! Over the course of the past

week our teams have been preparing for the

tasks ahead and have been getting to know

each other. I’ve seen many of them, along with

the   head   teachers,   mention   that   they   are

excited. And so here it is… the first task and the

official start of the Triwizard Tournament 2025!

I will try to keep it short because I’m sure you

all are just waiting to find out what your first

task is!

Considering the fact that in previous years the

request for   dangerous   creatures   and plants

have   been   rejected   by the   Departments of

Magical Games and Sports, I decided to play it

safe this year around. So all I asked for were

some manticores, to spice things up a little.

But...   for some reason,   they still said no?! I

suppose   we’ll   just   have   to do   without the

manticores now.

Similarly   to   the    previous   two   year   of   the

Triwizard Tournament, your first task will be the

Topic Challenge!   Some of   you may   already

know what this entails, but for those who are

new here or have forgotten,   I will explain in

detail what the champions will do in this task.

Please make sure to read the entire blog even

if you already know the gist of this task.

During this task, each of the three teams has

ten unique   topics   waiting   for   them.   These

topics include things such as characters, post

types, locations and so on, all topics will be

Harry Potter related, ofcourse.   Same as last

year,   the three   teams will   focus on making

posts on these ten topics, and this may sound

doable,   but   to    make   this    challenge   more

difficult the teams will receive their topics one

at a time. Before the next topic can be revealed

they must publish the post about their previous

topic first. Then, and only then, will they receive

their next topic.

This task is   designed to   test   how   well the

champions will work as a team. It’s all about

their strengths, how well they utilize time zones

and have them work to the best of their favours,

and how they manage their time, and teamwork

in general will make all the difference. I truly

believe that each and every team will make it

through the first task.

⠀⠀ Here is how it works:

⠀⠀   • There is a list of 30 topics in total. A set of 10

⠀⠀⠀⠀different topics waiting for each team. These

⠀⠀⠀⠀topics will all be related to the Harry Potter

⠀⠀⠀⠀universe (teams are not expected to finish all

⠀⠀⠀⠀of them!)

⠀⠀   • Every team will have a different set of topics.

⠀⠀   • The topics will be given in the team chats

⠀⠀⠀⠀one at a time and you must make a single

⠀⠀⠀⠀post (collectively as a team, or individually)

⠀⠀⠀⠀on that topic.

⠀⠀   • Once each post has been published, a new

⠀⠀⠀⠀topic is released in the chat and the process

⠀⠀⠀⠀begins again.

⠀⠀   • You will carefully need to consider the period

⠀⠀⠀⠀you have to complete the challenge, what

⠀⠀⠀⠀categories you might be given, the points

⠀⠀⠀⠀you will receive for quality vs quantity and

⠀⠀⠀⠀how information might be revealed by what

⠀⠀⠀⠀you and the other teams post.

⠀⠀   • One of these posts from each team must be

⠀⠀⠀⠀a fanfiction on one of their given topics.

⠀⠀   • The challenge will continue until the deadline

⠀⠀⠀⠀(11:59pm GMT) on the 8th of February.

⠀⠀ Scoring

Before you all start working on your first post, it

will be useful to understand how you will be

scored. I cannot stress it enough, but let me

remind you again,   you are   not   expected to

complete the full list of topics.   You will be

scored on the blogs that you do manage to

complete with your team in time, no matter

how many that is.

⠀⠀ The system

⠀⠀   • 1 point for every post

⠀⠀   • 2 points for every featured post

⠀⠀   • 5 posts → 5 points (7 posts, still 5 points)

⠀⠀   • 10 posts → 10 points

⠀⠀   • 100% involvement → 5 points

⠀⠀⠀⠀(20% per point)

⠀⠀   = potential subtotal of 45 points

Each Triwizard Judge will also have 10 points in

total which they can distribute over the three

teams once the challenge is complete. Like so:

⠀⠀ Aurora:

⠀⠀ Beauxbatons: 5

⠀⠀ Durmstrang: 3

⠀⠀ Hogwarts: 2

⠀⠀ *This is just an example

⠀⠀ Points

The Triwizard Tournament will be scored solely

on points.   The three teams can earn points

through all three tasks and the school with the

most points at the end of the tournament will

be crowned the winners of this year's Triwizard

Tournament!

⠀⠀ Hashtags

This part   of the blog   is very   important,   so

please read this carefully and make sure not to

miss anything. If you want your entries to count,

you will need to include a few hashtags that are

of great importance. Every valid entry to this

task MUST include three separate hashtags!

The head teachers will be asked to check that

all tags are correct, but it would be helpful for

you and your teammates to double check the

tags as   well   and   ensure   they   are   correct.

Please   make   sure   they’ll be easily spotted,

preferably at   the start or end   of each blog!

Head teachers- it will be wise to make sure

these tags are written   down somewhere for

your teams.

you will all do great! I will be back on February

10th around 3pm GMT with the results of this

first task and all the information you will need
