𝙃𝙊𝙂𝙒𝘼𝙍𝙏𝙎 𝙄𝙎 𝙉𝙊𝙏 𝙎𝘼𝙁𝙀!

Hogwarts may be renowned as a prestigious magical institution, but a closer examination reveals that it is far from a safe place for its students. The school’s history is rife with dangerous creatures, hazardous spells, and numerous life-threatening incidents. Firstly, the grounds surrounding Hogwarts are filled with awful locations like the Forbidden Forest, home to acromantulas (giant spiders), centaurs, werewolves, and even Dementors, all of which pose serious risks to students. Despite this, students are sometimes required to enter the forest for detention, showcasing a blatant disregard for their safety. Additionally, within the castle itself, there are numerous traps, cursed objects, and enchanted staircases that can change unexpectedly, (surprising that no kid has fallen off?) leading students into dangerous or unknown areas.

Year 1: A three-headed dog (Fluffy)

Devil’s Snare, a troll and Quirrell trying

To kill Harry, all while The Philosopher's

Stone is hidden in the school, when a

better, less student-filled option would

have been way better.

Year 2: A basilisk is unleashed through

the school’s plumbing, petrifying students

and almost killing several, including

Ginny Weasley, Hermione Granger,

Colin Creevy, Justin Finch-Fletchley and

Penelope clearwater.

Year 3: Dementors roam the grounds

(known for their ability to steal people's

souls, “the dementors kiss” and nobody

batting an eye whatsoever.) attacking

students despite being there for protection

A dangerous werewolf (Lupin) is teaching

and no one informs students or parents

about his condition.

Year 4: The Triwizard Tournament is held

despite being notoriously deadly. Harry

faces a dragon, merpeople, and a maze with

lethal traps before being transported

directly to the most dangerous dark wizard.

DEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS

TEACHER WAS A DARK WIZARD

IN DISGUISE, AND WAS ALLOWED

TO TEACH THREE OF THE WORST

SPELLS IN WIZARDING HISTORY.

TO A BUNCH OF CHILDREN.

Year 5: The presence of Dolores Umbridge

who mentally and physically tortures students

(carving words into kids hands during

detention) while her refusal to teach practical

Defense Against the Dark Arts leaves

students unprepared for real dangers also

While she deflects any and all criticism.

Year 6: Death Eaters infiltrate the castle

through the Vanishing Cabinet. There’s an

assassination attempt on Dumbledore

and the eventual battle leaves students in

mortal peril.

While some claim that Hogwarts offers a controlled environment for learning about magic’s dangers, the reality is far different. The so-called "controlled" experiences often go awry, like when a Hippogriff injured Draco Malfoy due to inadequate supervision. The school’s security measures also repeatedly fail (Ex, Sirus black, a claimed murderer breaking into the school) Additionally, incidents like the Triwizard Tournament, which allowed students to face life-threatening tasks, show a disregard for student safety. These examples suggest that Hogwarts’ dangers are not just part of magical education but a result of poor decision-making and insufficient protection for its students.
