Topic question

Did Percy Weasley deserve the neglect from the rest of his family, prior to their reunion in Deathly Hallows?

As we are aware, when Percy decided to work for Minister Fudge, a huge rift was drawn in the Weasley family as Percy sided with Fudge about Harry and many other things that broke not only the hearts of his mother and father,

but deeply wounded and irritated his brothers and sister. It eventually got to a point, where rather than trying to convince him to change his mind, the other Weasleys just ignored him entirely.

For this week’s debate, we’d like you to tell us:

FOR side:

Explain to us how the Weasley family were justified in not speaking to Percy.

AGAINST side:

Even though what he did was wrong, neglecting Percy for his actions wasn’t the best way to go about it. Explain to us why it wasn’t helpful, perhaps adding some thoughts as to more constructive ways the Weasley’s could’ve made up prior to Deathly Hallows.
