                        where we learned about the

                       Venomous Tentacula ♡

In Herbology this week, we discussed the features, dangers, usages, and protection from Venomous Tentacula, otherwise known as Venomous Tentacular, which is a sentient plant green in colour that is capable of killing a human simply with its fatal bite. This eyeless plant is normally recognized for its strong jaw and sharp fangs in addition to its surrounding leaves and vines which are used by the plant to protect itself from foreign invaders such as humans. In regards to the diet of this plant, chizpurfles, doxies, and humans are normally consumed to help this plant grow and develop.

As previously mentioned, Venomous Tentacula happens to be a rather threatening plant since its bite contains venom with the ability to stun or even kill anyone who is bitten. Nonetheless, the juice of this plant is not fatal, but it does invoke a burning sensation when consumed, and it also turns the skin of the consumer purple. The amount of juice ingested ultimately determines the extent of the purple pigmentation on the skin, so it is best to stay away from consuming any of its juice. Moreover, from time to time, this plant can also fire spiky spore-like balls from its mouth as a defense mechanism.

To protect yourself from this plant, the Fire-Making Spell and the Severing charm can be used against it. The Fire-Making spell is used to conjure a set of flames that can be used to burn the Tentacula if needed. The Severing charm can also be used against the Venomous Tentacula, but this charm is mainly used to stun or cut off the plant. Additionally, while handling this plant in the greenhouse, loud swearing is permitted if the plant attempts to strangle any student to alert the student’s peers and professor.

This unique plant can be used for a multitude of purposes, some being potion-making, weapons, and even to be kept as friendly pets. For potion-making, the Venomous Tentacula leaves are deemed as valuable, and they are used in poisonous potions. In of weapons, this plant can be used to shoot venom at opponents, which is what Neville Longbottom and Pomona Sprout used the plant for during the Battle of Hogwarts while they were attempting to eliminate the Death Eaters from the castle. Finally, as a pet, this plant can be taken in for a variety of reasons, but each reason is exclusive to the person purchasing the plant. In HP, Fred and Geroge Weasley purchased Venomous Tentacula seeds from Mundungus to use in their Wheezes at their joke shop despite the seeds being a Class C non-tradable substance.
