Now meet the objects and the judges of your quest:

To the north: Cunning Slytherin

There sits his throne, a serpent to his feet.

His favour with ambition you may win;

If not with skill, impress him with deceit

To the east: The Witch of Wisdom

Rowena Ravenclaw is her name.

Think quickly now, you need a system.

Be creative, or be put to shame!

To the south: Proud Gryffindor

And honor is what this one values most.

Proceed as bravely as you did before

And he will prove himself a generous host

To the west: Lady Hufflepuff

Opens her arms to welcome you.

Work hard for this one, soon enough

With patience and fairness you’ll make it through

Now you have met the founders four

Upon whose shoulders Hogwarts has held strong

Welcome, aspiring Hogwarts students!

It seems a change has been made to this year’s ission process. The four founders have had enough of the students’ laziness and now require them to show a modicum of knowledge before they’re allowed to enter the school!

But fret not, we, the Hogwarts Team, are sure you will the founders’ test with flying house colours. All you need to do is answer twenty questions and the doors of the great hall will open for you. The questions are all about the founders of Hogwarts themselves. We wouldn’t want to make it too hard for you, would we?

Oh, you’re muggleborn? You’ve never heard about the Four Founders of Hogwarts? Well, I guess we can’t all be Hermione Granger. Let us refresh your memory:

𝐆 𝐎 𝐃 𝐑 𝐈 𝐂     𝐆 𝐑 𝐘 𝐅 𝐅 𝐈 𝐍 𝐃 𝐎 𝐑

The founder of house Gryffindor valued courage, determination and strength in the students he selected for his house and had no problem with muggleborn students. He chose the lion to represent his house in the Hogwarts crest, possibly because of his own red, lion-like mane of hair.

He was exceptionally skilled at duelling, wielding a sword along with his wand. Today’s Sorting Hat was Gryffindor’s very own hat, and if you’re a true Gryffindor, you can still pull his sword out of the head in times of need.

𝐇 𝐄 𝐋 𝐆 𝐀    𝐇 𝐔 𝐅 𝐅 𝐋 𝐄 𝐏 𝐔 𝐅 𝐅

This Welsh witch accepted all students regardless of their skill and origin, as long as they were loyal to each other and willing to work hard. She was best friends with Rowena Ravenclaw.

Helga was famous for her cooking spells and recipes and made sure the Hufflepuff common room was built right next to the kitchens. She was the one to arrange for the house elves to work in the kitchens, providing them with a safe workplace free from abuse. A family heirloom of Hufflepuff, a colden cup, was rumoured to possess some magical powers.

𝐑 𝐎 𝐖 𝐄 𝐍 𝐀    𝐑 𝐀 𝐕 𝐄 𝐍 𝐂 𝐋 𝐀 𝐖

Rowena Ravenclaw was known for her magical skill, her intelligence and her creativity, all traits she took into consideration when selecting students for her house. She was most likely the one who came up with the school’s name after dreaming of a warty hog that led her to a cliff by the lake where the castle would later be built.

Rowena is responsible for much of the castle’s architecture, including the ever-changing floor plan. She owned a diadem that was said to enhance the wearer’s intellect. The diadem was later stolen by Rowena’s own daughter.

𝐒 𝐀 𝐋 𝐀 𝐙 𝐀 𝐑    𝐒 𝐋 𝐘 𝐓 𝐇 𝐄 𝐑 𝐈 𝐍

This ambitious and cunning pureblood wizard was said to be one of the greatest of his time and was known as a skilled leglimens. He had the unique ability to speak Parsel and chose a snake as his house’s animal.

Salazar used to be best friends with Godric Gryffindor before Slytherin’s obsession with blood purity and the Dark Arts caused a rift between him and the other founders. Before he left Hogwarts, Salazar built the Chamber of Secrets which housed a basilik and could only be opened by a fellow Parselmouth.
