Hey everyone, my name is

Mia and it is under saddened

circumstances that I bring

you all my next addition of

my 'Who Exactly Is' series.

With the sudden ing of

Helen McCrory I only felt it right

to focus in on who she

portrayed in the Harry Potter

movies.

She did an amazing job at

bringing Draco's mother to

life and so today's instalment

shall be entirely focused on

Mrs.Malfoy.

Early Life:

Born in 1955 to both Cygnus and Druella Black, Narcissa was the younger sister to Bellatrix and Andromeda all three of which were pure-blood witches born into the aristocratic House of Black. From a young age the philosophy of blood purity would have been taught to her aswell as her sisters leading to Narcissa's prejudices holding pure-blooded wizards and witches high above anybody with a low blood status.

She attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1966 - 1973 sharing both some years with her two sisters as well as the house they were all sorted into - Slytherin. It was while she was at school that Narcissa would meet her future husband Lucius Malfoy who was also housed in Slytherin in the year above her own. Whilst she attended Hogwarts it is assumed she would have come to know Severus Snape alongside others who would become future Death Eaters (most probably through Lucius). Additionaly Narcissa would have been at the school whilst the Marauders were there, one of which was Sirius Black her first cousin. She had a lack of esteem for him though as she considered Sirius to be a 'blood traitor' leaving it almost certian that the two had very little if any at all.

Hense when her sister Andromeda was disowned by the family for marrying the muggle born wizard Ted Tonks, just as Bellatrix did she cut off all from her older sister; completely removing her from her own life.

First Wizarding War:

It is thought that Narcissa and Lucius married somewhere between 1972 - 1979 after both had finished their education. Unlike her sister Andromeda, this marriage would have kept her in her own families limelight as the Malfoy's were pure-blooded - and wealthy ones at that. She would have lived a life filled with pure luxury and privilege at the Malfoy Mannor located in Wiltshire, England.

Lucius would have been the one to introduce Narcissa to the Death Eater lifestyle. Despite the fact that Lucius himself alongside his own father and son would all have been Death Eaters at some point, Narcissa herself never did become one.

Together the pair had one child, a son who would be in the same school year as the famous Harry Potter, Draco Lucius Malfoy. By naming her son 'Draco' she continued on her own family tradition of naming children after stars and constellations (just like her sister's names).

During the First Wizarding War her first cousin Regulas Black was murdered and his brother Sirius alongside her sister Bellatrix were sentenced to time in Azkaban Prison after the fall of the Dark Lord in 1981; this would have left Narcissa with the absence of both sisters for the time being. This posed a problem for her Death Eater husband however, Lucius was able to escape any kind of similar punishment by pleading he had been under the effects of the Imperius Curse. This left the Malfoy's comftobale in the social light as they gained close relations to certian Ministry of Magic officials such as Dolores Umbridge and Cornelius Fudge who at the time was the Minister.

No matter how they appeared in public, privately they hated how things had turned out seeing the purification of the Wizarding race to have failed and started to diminish.

Between Wars:

By the time 1991 rolled around Narcissa's son was due to star school, it is here that her and Lucius differed on their opinion of schooling. Lucius wished for Draco to attend Durmstrang Institute which was located in northern Europe as the school only accepted pure-blood and half-blood students - Durmstrang also taught Dark Arts which was something Lucius obviously wanted his son to know about. Narcissa on the other hand insisted her son went to Hogwarts so that he would be closer to home. She loved her son quite deeply as even during his first year at Hogwarts, Narcissa would send him sweets and cake by owl everyday.

In 1994 she would attend the Quidditch World Cup alongside Lucius and Draco being seated in Fudge's luxury box and watching the game from there.

The Dark Lords Return:

1996 was the year her two brother-in-laws but more importantly sister escaped from Azkaban (these being the Lestrange brothers Rabastan and Rodolphus the latter being Bellatrix's husband), not all was good news for Narcissa though as her husband had lead and participated in the Battle of the Department of Ministries in attempt to acquire a prophecy for the Dark Lord. She had been the one to provide Voldomort with the infomation required to lure Harry there as the house elf Kreacher had willingly told it to her due her birthright as a Black and additionaly her better treatment of him opposed to his current master - Sirius Black. His failed attempt was not recieve lightly by Lord Voldemort as Lucius along with some other Death Eaters were sent to Azkaban .

This left Narcissa distraught not only over Lucius' incarceration but the treatment of her family by the Dark Lord. So, that summer she traveled to Severus Snape's house with Bellatrix to discuss Voldemort's orders about Draco killing heaster Albus Dumbledore. She had just lost her husband and was under the pretence that Draco was being sent on this mission as punishment for what Lucius had done: she was worried sick her son would die carrying out this task. Eventhough her sister tried to assure her different, she begged Severus to make an Unbreakable Vow with her ensuring that he would watch over Draco and that if he failed to complete his task, Severus was to do it himself.

This year while school supply shopping with Draco, Narcissa had a heated conversation with the Boy-Who-Lived himself, Harry taunted her over Lucius' imprisonment which she backfired to him about Sirius' recent murder.

Home As Headquarters:

The following year in 1997 the Dark Lord would use Malfoy Mannor as his headquarters and despite the fact the Malfoy's claimed nothing would please them more than to host the Dark Lord, it made them all extremely uncomfortable. A meeting with Voldemort's inner circle was held there with the murder of Charity Burbage taking place in the drawing room. When Lord Voldemort asked the Death Eaters for a borrowed wand, Narcissa encouraged Lucius to offer his up which he did although it broke in the Battle of the Seven Potters. The Dark Lord was still displeased with the family due to Lucius' earlier actions and liked humiliating them by taunting them of their relationship with the werewolf Remus Lupin through Narcissa's niece: Nymphadora Tonks, daughter of Andromeda Tonks.

Soon later the Golden Trio would be caught by snatchers and taken to Malfoy Mannor all lead by Fenrir Greyback. Narcissa acted coldly to some of them however still let them in (probably with slight reluctance) calling on Draco to help identify the prisoners, she herself recognised Hermione Granger.

She clashed with Bellatrix over who had authority in her house and therefore over the prisoners. Soon a fight would break out where the Malfoy's former house elf Dobby would appear to stand with Harry Potter at a great deal of supprise to her. After Harry and the other prisoners escaped the mannor Voldemort went on to severely punish the Malfoy family and Bellatrix for letting such a thing happen. By the time the Battle of Hogwarts rolled around, Narcissa had given her wand to Draco to use leaving both her and Lucius wandless.

Betrayal:

Her wand did not last long with her son as he lost it in the Room of Requirements leading to its incineration. During the battle Voldemort attempted to kill Harry once more in the Forbidden Forest and demanded that somebody check to make sure he was dead. Nobody wanted to perform such an act although Narcissa volunteered to do so seeing it as an opportunity to learn of Draco's current state. When she approached Harry and saw that he was still bresthing she whispered to him asking if Draco was still alive to which Harry responded quietly that he was. She then betrayed the Dark Lord telling him straight to his face that Harry Potter was dead when he was very much still alive. She was a brave woman in this moment, prepared to lie to a wizard who had immense power not only in magic but numbers of followers all for her son; Narcissa quite literally put her life on the line just for the hope of seeing Draco again.

She knew it was the only way for her family to reunite, when the battle started up again Lucius and Narcissa both abandoned the Death Eaters in frantic search of their son. After the Battle they all reunited in the Great Hall where they were very uncomfortable with their predicament but did not leave.

Due to Narcissa's open betrayal of the Dark Lord, the whole family was granted a reprieve and avoided any kind of sentencing at Azkaban. She would eventually become the mother in-law to Astoria Greengrass and grandmother to Scorpius Malfoy, Astoria and Draco's son.
