1.3 | Who Exactly Is Angelina Johnson?

I'm back! Hey everyone my name is Mia and this is a little series of sorts that I started last year where I talk about some of the lesser known Harry Potter characters in order to bring them a little more into the spotlight.

Today's character is 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻. Thank you for taking the time to read and I do hope that you enjoy! would be appreciated :)

Family History & Life Before Hogwarts:

Angelina was born in late October of 1977 between the 24th and 30th in either Britain or Ireland. It is presumed that the Johnson family were either pure-blooded or half-bloods, there is no history on any family member preceding Angelina herself.

After receiving her acceptance letter for Hogwarts, she went to Diagon Alley purchasing her school equipment and wand.

First Year 1989:

Due to when her birthday was, when Angelina began attending Hogwarts she was already nearly twelve years old. When sorted she was placed into Gryffindor House along with fellow house mates Alicia Spinnet, Lee Jordan and Fred and George Weasley.

Second Year 1990:

Since Harry Potter would not start attending Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry untill next year, there is barely any infomation on Angelina in her early years at the school. The girl became a member of the Gryffindor quidditch team as a chaser in either her second year or by her third.

Third Year 1991:

By the time third year had come around, Angelina had become a popular student. Being on the quidditch team would have added to this as other students and team mates would have become familiar with her name and who she was. Friend Lee Jordan even appeared to be attracted to the girl shown through his comments on her while commentating the quidditch matches.

At the time Oliver Wood was the captain of the gryffindor quidditch team and it hadn't taken long for Angelina to grow annoyed at his constant referral to the team as 'lads' or 'men'. She made it a point to correct him as she herself along with Katie Bell and Alicia Spinnet were female team .

Whenever the Gryffindor team were playing against Slytherin Angelina seemed like an easy target for them to take out, during one match two of their players knocked her off of her broom by boxing her in.

Fourth Year 1992:

This year was when The Chamber Of Secrets had opened up again leading to muggle-born students being attacked. This must of shook Angelina up along with all of the other students at the school. Due to the circumstances a duelling club was started up and Angelina herself attended the first meeting as she fought over Professor Gilderoy Lockheart's cloak along side Katie and Alicia.

Fifth Year 1993:

Her fifth year included a lot of pressure being put onto her by quidditch team captin Oliver Wood, it was his last year at the school and he wanted to win the quidditch cup for his house which resulted in him pressure his team maybe more than usual. This was all for good reason though as Gryffindor did go on to win the cup at the end of the year.

She discussed along with Katie Bell about Cedric Diggor - a Hufflepuff player. They went over his appearance before a game with Angelina commenting on how he was tall and good looking, both girls showed an interest in him.

Sixth Year 1994:

1994, the year that The Triwazard Tournament came to Hogwarts. Angelina did enter her name into the Goblet Of Fire luckily having just turned seventeen the previous week and being old enought to do so as Albus Dumbledore had put an age line around it preventing anyone under her age from entering. Since this tournament was being held, all quidditch games and practices had been cancelled meaning that the girl did not participate in any of the sport that year.

Angelina was a er of Harry Potter throughout the tasks with her being seen next to Fred and George Weasley cheering rather loudly at the first task. This wasn't the only time during her sixth year where she would be seen with Fred Weasley though as he asked her to go to the Yule Ball with him which she agreed too.

The end of this school year wasn't quite as cheerful or exciting as the beginning. Angelina being one of the first people to stop her celebrating during the final task when Harry returned with the other Hogwarts' champion's body - Cedric Diggory. She attended the Memorial Feast for the unfortunate Hufflepuff boy appearing rather emotional. Cedric had been a popular boy in her year who was also shown to be a fan of quidditch - something Angelina participated in playing herself.

Seventh Year 1995:

As Oliver had left Hogwarts in 1994 and quidditch hadn't been on the previous year due to the tournament, Angelina became the Gryffindor quidditch captin in her seventh year. She was as demanding as Oliver had been aswell as having a hard driven attitude however, she did regret how hard she was on the previous captain obviously now seeing how hard of a role it was. Just like him, Angelina didn't take losing very well.

It seemed the girl couldn't catch a break though as Dolored Umbridge - the new Defence Against The Dark Arts Professor - had banned Harry along with Fred and George from playing the sport. This lead to new teammates, one specifically being Ron Weasley that Angelina found hard not to get angry over due to his not so amazing talent on the pitch. She hoped that he would develop his skills over time seeing as he came from a family of good quidditch players.

She decided that it was Harry's own fault that he got himself into detention and demanded that he did whatever it took to get out of it, he could not get out of it however which only made Angelina angrier. So angry in fact that she made comments suggesting that people who really wanted to be on the team would be able to find a way to get to practices. Harry Potter even made a remark about checking whether or not Oliver Wood was still alive since it seemed like Anglina was channeling his spirit. On Friday evening after the try outs, she did apologise to the younger boy for her attitude stating that she found managing the team a bit stressful.

Later on in the year, Dumbledore's Army was made and Angelina along with friends ed, she herself ed due to her hate for Umbridge who favoured the Slytherin students and took away some of her best quidditch players. Umbridge had also gone on to cancel group meetings which included quidditch. She appealed for her team to be reinstated but being told that time was needed to consider this went straight to McGonagall who may have talked with Dumbledore forcing the new Professor to allow the teams to re-form.

During the last meeting of Dumbledore's Army before Christmas breaks, Angelina had spoken with Harry letting him knew that she found new beaters and a seeker for the Quidditch team. The seeker being Ginny Weasley and beaters being Andrew Kirke and Jack Sloper.

Before And During The Battle Of Hogwarts 1996 - 1998:

With The Battle Of Hogwarts only happening a few years after the girl left school, everything seemed to move quickly. Angelina was able to keep in with of Dumbledore's Army thanks to the fake coin Hermione Granger had previously given to her. When she found out the school was standing up to Voldomort, she returned to fight the oncoming army of Death Eaters. It is thought that she kept in with her friends as when she arrived back it was alongside Oliver, Katie and Alicia. She survived the battle and mostly likely sat afterwards with the Weasley's grieving with them at the loss of Fred who had been a good friend of hers.

Life After Hogwarts:

Sometime after the battle, Angelina found herself growing closer to George, the other Weasley twin. They eventually got married and had two children, Fred Weasley II named after his father's late brother and Roxanne Weasley.

In July 2014 shortly before that year's Quidditch World Cup, Angelina's father grew ill and the girl left to go and take care of him. Despite this she did travel alongside her husband and children to the Patagonian Desert and attended the match on July 11th. During it however commentator Rita Skeeter brought up rumours that Angelena had left her husband because she had grown restless of their marriage. The other commentator - Ginny Weasley was quick to dismiss Rita's words though explaining that she had been caring for her unwell father.
