New enclosure setup

First of all...

So... some things happen since I was last here. I am no longer pregnant, I haven't really talked to anyone properly about it yet because I am not ready to, so that is all I'm going to say about that. My job is getting better and better each day, I am really starting to enjoy it and it's now like a little safe haven to me. I kinda miss using this app lately.

Alex is doing just fine, she does seem to be getting a little old but she's still active and things, I've just noticed she's not as food driven any more but that's okay because she still eats the same amount of food, she just isn't as desperate to try and find it now.

New setup

I did the new setup about a week ago but I still wanted to post it on here as well as on Alex' Instagram (which I did the day after cleaning).

Here is the beautiful overview! As you can see, I moved the wheel from being in front of the shelf to being next to it. This means I can now see her running because the wheel used to have it's back to me. For some reason it also makes the cage look more spacious.

Another thing I had to change was the DIY multichamber hide... it had to go, she had completely chewed through the floor and peed a lot in one of the corners... I tried a lot of spot cleaning because she loved it so much but it... it smelled... really bad...

I also introduced some flax sprays into the cage for the first time, from when I put Alex in to when I checked the cage again they had dissapeared so I believe she likes them!

Another thing I finally got to introduce for the first time was this kind of cardboard. Because of moving and my old landlady keeping her hoover, we had to buy a new one and luckily it came with this type of cardboard so I was so happy to finally find some.

This is the view under the shelf, this looks nothing like this now because she filled it with bedding and is now sleeping under it. It just has her dig pot, a bendy bridge and a bunch of chews laying around.

This is the cork log Alex never uses, I'm in the search for a bigger one because maybe she doesn't like the size, I dunno.

Finally, we have the view from the top of the shelf! Water, chews and snacks, and a DIY bridge that she has only just started chewing on.
