:christmas_tree: Day 1: Stars! :christmas_tree:

Happy December everyone! I’m participating in this challenge since the holidays for everyone are rolling around, and it’s my favorite time of the year!

So here’s my ‘stars’ story.

So at Eagle Bluff we took a night hike and we saw shooting stars and the Milky Way. Our teacher put each of us at different spots and allowed us to listen to nature and just absorb it. It was amazing and very inspiring.

I closed my eyes and began listening to the world around me. Then I took a deep breath and opened them. I looked up at the sky and I saw a star that stood out more than any other. It was brighter than any other. Immediately I thought of Bandit.

‘I love you, Bandit. I hope you never forgot that.’

I used to tell her, “I love you and always will. Never forget that.” I hope she never forgot.

So I thought that at the star and it seemed like it shined even brighter. Could’ve been my eyes adjusting but I don’t know.

I began thinking other thoughts that I would say to her, and after about 10 minutes, our teacher gathered us up and my friend came over to me asking “are you okay?”

It made me cry :joy: :sob: :heart:

I looked back at the star for a last time and whispered, “I love you.” Then we continued on our hike and I smiled.
