So recently I discovered that Mango keeps chewing her detolf bars, she has alot of toys and plenty of bedding. Whenever I try to take pet her, she ignores me and keeps chewing  everyday at midnight I have to wake up and give her some lettuce so she'll be busy for a few minutes, but since I'm starting school I cant wake up every hour to give her something. Any ideas?
this was taken at night so ignore the blurriness

Try covering the bars with cut (vertically) paper towel rolls :)
Thank you so much! I'll have to try that :)
What type of wood bedding are you using, it could be irritating her
Its aspen so there's probably nothing to worry about
My hamster does this too. Honestly the only thing that has worked for me was covering the area. Using like bendy bridges or a heavy hide. I’ve noticed lots of hamsters concentrate on one bar so hopefully covering it can help!!
It's surprisingly often female syrians are still fussy in detolfs. So don't worry too much! Female syrians can be so hard to please & you're doing your best, her enclosure looks amazing from your previous posts.
Honestly all you can truly do is pack it full of boredom breakers, chews, logs etc.
Maybe try covering the bar with something like cardboard tubes & give her plenty of time to free roam.
Thank you so much! I'm probably going to free roam her more, I hope that this will stop her w the bar chewing. :grimacing:
Chew toys and boredom breakers are a good solution. And if you have time, you could free-roam her on a large space for 2-3 hours (it can be closer to 1 hour and 30 min if that's all the time you have)
